Delaware SnOMG.

So how are the roads out there. I have a party to go to at 11, so hopefully it is all cleared up by then. Here is an update from Jim Westhoff from DelDOT.

Motorists in Delaware should expect to see slick roads this Saturday morning, as a winter storm visited the state overnight, the heaviest of the snow and ice being in New Castle county. Statewide, more than 300 DelDOT employees worked through the night, most starting at about 11 p.m., spreading salt, and keeping the main roads snow and ice free.

New Castle County

While the travel lanes of I95 and I495 are primarily clear of snow and ice, the shoulders and off ramps are slick with light amounts of snow and slush. Other roads throughout the county remain passable, but are covered in a thin layer of snow and ice. Drivers should plan to take extra travel time if they are driving this morning. Crews are currently pushing snow, as well as continuing to spread salt.

Kent County

Route 1 is clear, but all other roads in the county may be covered in snow and ice. Crews in Kent County are also currently pushing snow, as well as continuing to spread salt.

Sussex County

Minor roads are covered in a thin layer of snow and ice, but major roads are clear. Crews continue spreading salt.
