Read Gail Collins’ column in the Times this morning. It is hysterical.

I don’t know if I’ve ever mentioned this, but Mitt Romney once drove to Canada with the family Irish setter on the roof of the car. […]

At some point — possibly in response to the excitement about being passed by tractor-trailers while floating like a furry maraschino cherry on top of the car, Seamus developed diarrhea. And Romney, who had designated all the acceptable rest stops before beginning the trip, was forced to make an unscheduled trip to a gas station. Where he kept the family in the car while he hosed down the station wagon and the dog, then returned to the highway.

“It was a tiny preview of a trait he would grow famous for in business: emotion-free crisis management,” Swidey wrote.

People, does any of this sound appealing? Elect Mitt Romney and he will take the nation on the road to the future. Some of us will be stuck on the roof. The rest of us will be inside singing camp songs and waiting for the day when the master plan lets us stop to visit the bathroom. Plus, anybody who screws up on the way to the future gets the hose.

Meanwhile, Rick Santorum’s ballot and delegate problems keep getting worse. He will not be on the ballot in D.C.’s primary because the campaign did not pay the $5000 fee, nor did he request a petition for signatures. In Illinois, Santorum failed to file slates of delegates in a handful of congressional districts, similar to his problem in Ohio. On the Gingrich front, he is conceding Kansas to Santorum, and concentrating on Alabama and Mississippi. If Gingrich doesn’t win those states, he is out.

National Review:

“Republicans who have chosen to associate with the birthers have done their party and their country a disservice. And as Sheriff Arpaio settles comfortably into that political mental ward, the same must be said of those Republicans who choose to associate themselves with him more broadly. Those who cannot distinguish between the birthers’ flim-flam and the critical questions that face our nation in 2012 will not win and do not deserve to.”

I read somewhere that Seamus, once free from the cage in Canada, ran off and was never seen by the Romney family again.

I think we can stick a fork in Newt. (I you do, be careful. The rush o toxic gas escaping from the puncture hole will be hazardous.)

Mr. Gingrich was set to take the stage here Wednesday in front of a black backdrop and a large sign touting his proposal for $2.50 a gallon gasoline. About 10 minutes before he took the stage, both the backdrop and the sign topped over.

The the kind of last sentence candidates get when it is over and they are the only ones who don;t realize it.

I think Gingrich is done, his festering corpse just doesn’t know it yet. But it would be good if he can keep winning the neo-confederate states.

Dennis Kucinich lost his primary to Marcy Kaptur, who will face… Joe the Plumber.

  7. Jason330 says:

I’m sorry to hear that. Joe the Plumber would have made a fitting VP choice for Romney.

Roll a fatty and put it next to the dough, spoon dough onto cookie sheet and bake at 325 deg. for 12 mins. While that’s cooking smoke the fatty. That oughta do er.

  18. Dana Garrett says:

The national poll that puts Obama defeating Paul at the same rate as defeating Romney is frightening in its implications (both at 41%). Hopefully it only means that most Americans are ignorant of the levels of impoverishment that would result from his libertarian capitalism.

  19. Mike O. says:

Red Clay Parental Involvement Survey is out and due by March 23. In the meantime, try your hand at answering some of the questions!
