Delaware Liberal Tracking Poll Results — Paul Gallagher (D). Next Up: The General Assembly Leadership
As expected, industry advocate Paul Gallagher did not fare all too well around these parts. 66% view him unfavorably, and I think that might rival Karen Weldin Stewart’s numbers. Another 18% are undecided or unsure, and 16% view him favorably.

One thing that struck me about Gallagher is his Jay Leno chin. Our resident Cartoonist, Rob Tornoe, is going to have fun with that.
Now onto polling the party leadership in the General Assembly. House Speaker Bob Gilligan is up today, and next week, Senate President Pro Tem Tony Deluca, Senate Majority Leader Patti Blevins, Senate Minority Leader Gary Simpson, House Majority Leader Pete Schwartzkopf and House Minority Leader Greg Lavelle.
Speaker Gilligan is my district representative and has always been responsive to me when I’ve called even if he didn’t always agree with me. I like him personally. But I am a little miffed at him because I understand that last year he didn’t assign Rep. John Kowalko’s bill to a committee that proposes to open the University of Delaware to FOIA.

The Speaker did his job and assigned the bill (J J Johnson/Kowalko prime) to the House Administration Committee last year but it has not been scheduled for a hearing and needs the committee’s Chair to do that.

Caption contest for the Gallagher picture. I’ll start:
“I have a pet mouse in my pocket!”
My knock against Gilligan has to do with his role in making Atkins a Democrat. Beyond that I’m not sure what to make of him. Before I vote, ‘unsure’ if anyone wants to make a pitch, I’m all ears.
Thanks, John, for that information. I was misinformed about what happened. I’m glad to hear that Speaker Gilligan did the right thing.
