Wilmington Friends School Back to Normal on Monday

Filed in Delaware by on April 19, 2012

As many of you know, Wilmington Friends School, the oldest existing school in Delaware, was had a fire in its auditorium on Tuesday that led to the upper and middle school being closed till this Monday morning. If this is the worse thing that happens at a Delaware school, I’m all for it. Schools around the country have had worse problems than this. However, a lesson can be learned here. If an organization uses the web to communicate with its customers, in this case parents, students and teachers, for heaven’s sake move your “communication” servers off your campus to a third-party location. Though Friends was able to jury rig a solution in a couple of hours, web servers off-site would have sped up the dissemination of information much faster.
