31 Republican Men Vote Against Reauthorization of Violence Against Women Act
The reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act passed the Senate 68 to 31 with one abstention.Meanwhile, the House introduces a less controversial bill that doesn’t takes out the same-sex language that passed in the Senate. In other news, the Senate voted for the overhaul of the US postal service.

I hope that was just anger talking and that you do not actually wish that upon any one.
And a course a more complete telling of this would be that that the Republicans wanted to water down new provisions in the bill that would cover same-sex couples, undocumented immigrants and Native American women for whatever reason. However, the Republicans did try to strengthen the law by giving authorities more tools to investigate sex offenders and end the backlog of untested rape kits, but those changes were rejected by the Senate. And it should be noted that the act was last last renewed in 2005 when Republicans controlled the majority.
