A Document on the Decline of the Delaware GOP

Filed in Delaware, National by on May 1, 2012

If Priscilla Rakestraw’s going-away op-ed doesn’t show that she doesn’t understand what’s happening in the Republican Party, then nothing will.

There is, and always will be, room for Republicans who are pro-life and pro-choice, who are for civil unions and those who are not, who support and oppose the war in Afghanistan and who support and oppose foreign aid. There is even room for those who think that some slight increase in taxes might be necessary to address our country’s deficit problems (although hopefully there aren’t too many of those folks.).

I’m still laughing at the idiocy of this paragraph. Seriously, still laughing.

    Priscilla,
If you support civil unions, oppose the war in Afghanistan, and truly believe that tax increases are needed to address deficit problems, you’re welcome to become a Democrat. It may take a little work to make you a progressive Democrat, but we can try. In any event, when you wake up and finally smell the coffee, you’ll realize that there’s no room for you in the GOP.

When people in the GOP put that organization’s narrow agenda ahead of state and country, then they really have become an enemy of the people. I’ve come to see the Tea Party as a traitorous bunch most worthy of abject scorn.

The GOP needs a real and honest cleansing. That’s best done via an utter defeat at the polls. Nothing else will bring back the GOP as a viable and functioning political party. In the mean time, the nation will suffer from diminished capacity.

Yeah, the income taxes are half Delaware’s rate, but the property taxes are 4 times higher.

This is low-quality trolling. Try to do better.

As Bugs Bunny said: Oh Puh-Leese! Beyond pathetic and in total denial or high flying lie Rakestraw goes the way of Gingrich, Peryy and the rest. Exiting to cheers, jeers and and snide comments from people like me Rakestraw tries to pull the wool one more time and fails magnificently. To the trolls: Duh! Socialism!!! or Ron Paul!!! Your choice.
