Payday loan lobbyist Laird Stabler has a hilarious op-ed about how inclusive the Republican Party is. Okay, Stabler, , national committeeman for the Delaware Republican Party, is being unintentionally funny, but still the column is a riot. For all intents and purposes, Stabler is complaining about a column from earlier in the month that postalized that the Republican Party is not inclusive.
For example, the column claims it was Democratic principles that led to the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, yet fails to mention that it was Democrats who were the chief opponents of that landmark legislation and that the Civil Rights Act would not have passed over that Democratic opposition without the strong support of the Republican Party.
LOL. Stabler has to go back 50 years to find a progressive issue that the GOP was on the right side of.
But wait, it gets funnier.
The column also claims that the Democratic Party wants to provide the best public education for every child – as if Republicans do not.
It is this very kind of divisive rhetoric that is making politics so much more disagreeable and ugly today.
It’s as if Stabler hasn’t been paying attention for the last 20 years.
