Sign Wars Update: Lopez 1 – Urquhart 1
The 1’s above are not points. They are the total number of yard signs I saw on a recent trip from Rehoboth to Lewes and back. I don’t know if the campaign hasn’t really kicked in, or if this is just going to be a low spending primary, but as of now nobody is bolting out to the lead in terms of yard signs.
An anonymous tipster tells me that Urq and Lopez probably aren’t competing for Rehoboth/Lewes votes. That make sense.
Also, check out this awesomeness…

Who did it? The only person in the Delaware GOP I can rule out is Michele Rollins.
0-the number of andy staton or bob frederick signs I’ve seen
There are a lot of Glen signs at Dawn’s Country Market and Hudson Fields north of Lewes. I always thought it was risky for a business owner to put up signs. Seen a few Lopez signs along 1 North of Lewes.
There was an Urquhart yard sign on Silver Lake Dr. near the Dewey/Rehoboth border a few weeks ago. I didn’t see it this past weekend.
There are a load of Lopez signs in my development (he lives around the corner from me). Met him and his family when I was out walking the dog last week – nice guy but wrong party.
Andy doesn’t have any signs yet and will have them in about 2 weeks. Just remember, Phil, signs don’t vote.
I would vote for either Lopez or Staton. Urquhart is a hot mess and Frederick’s just washed up.
The only reason Frederick is running is “it’s an open seat and I think there should be a primary.” He’s not picking up a lot of support from the rank-and-file or the party insiders. Bob’s a nice guy, but he’s running for the wrong reasons.
My priority in this race is for Urquhart to lose. Love the website, btw.
Fredman changed to GOP so he could vote against Urq:

There are countless Lopez signs in many developments as well as large 4 x 8 signs on both Rt.9 and Fisher Rd. As far as signs go Lopez would be the winner.
Urkel’s signs are difficult to read, even up close, while Lopez’s signs are readily discernible from a distance.
I believe Frederick has better reasons for running than thinking there should be a primary. Who would run for that reason? He thinks he can make a contribution and, from what I see is gaining support, maybe not from party activists, but, then again, most people aren’t activists. Personally, I don’t think he should be underestimated.
The wrong reasons for running are to aggrandize yourself and make money. He is not running for those reasons. The right reasons for running are to serve the district and try to do some good. That is why he is running.
