The Polling Report [6.14.12]

Filed in National by on June 14, 2012

Not much polling today. We have a new poll out of Nevada that puts that state back in the Lean Obama camp. Rasmussen is back playing games with a Wisconsin poll showing Romney up by 3. There is a reason we don’t count Rasmussen in the map, and in case you are wondering what that reason is, its’ their Republican bias and notorious inaccuracy.

NATIONAL–PRESIDENT (Gallup Tracking): Obama 46, Romney 45
NATIONAL–PRESIDENT (Rasmussen Tracking): Romney 48, Obama 44
NEVADA (PPP): Obama 48, Romney 42
WISCONSIN (Rasmussen): Romney 47, Obama 44
NORTH CAROLINA–GOVERNOR (PPP): Pat McCrory (R) 47, Walter Dalton (D) 40

Can someone put up a “Allan Loudell, stop quoting Rasmussen” petition online? His otherwise decent news reports are hobbled by his addiction to having Rassy on as a guest and quoting Rassy poll results as though they are unbiased.

  2. When, Jason?

I haven’t had Rasmussen on as a guest for a long time.

I can’t honestly recall if one of my general guests mentioned Rasmussen in passing.

But if you go the “comments” on my blog, you’ll see how I responded to someone bringing up the Rasmussen Wisconsin poll, by pointing out how Rasmussen methodology usually accentuates the showing for conservative candidates.

That said, it IS true that conservative G.O.P. voters tend to turn out come hell or high water.

@AL”That said, it IS true that conservative G.O.P. voters tend to turn out come hell or high water.”

But that’s already included in reputable polls. Rassy double counts this effect.

The President continues to run strong in swing states but I am concerned that he can’t crack 50% nationally. Bush won while in the 47-48% range all year but we know that came down to one state. Trying to paint Romney as a tea partier isn’t working. They should go with the “flip-flopper” attack line.
