The Georgetown bin Laden
Vance Phillips’ attorney, Joe Hurley:
Last week, Councilman Vance Phillips was the victim of a bin Laden attack. The terminology which will always live in American ignomy, refers to a spineless coward who sits in the darkness, and deliberately, and gleefully, inflicts pain on innocents in order to accomplish his deranged agenda. Pakistan had its bin Laden. Sussex County has one as well.
Not content to attempt to assassination of the character of Vance Phillips, Georgetown bin Laden, targeted innocent members of the General Assembly with public attacks launched from the darkness, of course, that would imperil their political careers. Finally, and in what may be described as perhaps the most steroidal act of revulsion, Georgetown bin Laden, maliciously, identified a young lady as a participant in criminal activity alleged by him.
Fortunately the United States of America had Navy Seals as its disposal to dispatch the Pakistani spineless excuse for humanity to kingdom come. Unfortunately, Vance Phillips does nto have that luxury.
All that Vance Phillips can do, and now does, is to challenge Georgetown bin Laden to come out of his nest n the “darkness”, and separate himself from other cowards of his ilk, if there are any, and stand in the light of day and prepare to “bring it on”. Vance will be waiting.
Georgetown bin Laden can present his evidence and Vance will present his. One of them will stand acquitted. If it is Vance, and it will be, as the Jihadist rat shrinks back into his hole, he will become the target and, more specifically, as he slinks along the laser will focus on him and his assets should there be any and justice will be done.Joe Hurley

As tasteless as it is comparing the deaths of 3000 people to an accusation of failing to keep one’s trousers zippered, I doubt Joe Hurley gives a shit about any disciplinary committee. It is interesting that Phillips has retained Delaware’s pre-eminent defense attorney.

Well, the business about offering someone the director of veterans affairs job is pretty preposterous … since the Vets’ Commission is in the State Dept. Jeff Bullock isn’t about to sack the incumbent in favor of a Rethug ne’er-do-well.

Well the fact that the letter was sent to the GA rather than the DSP evidences that it was intended to cause political harm rather than reporting an alleged crime. Which means it originated directly or by proxy from the Christopher and supporters camp (Bodenweiser and Ayotte). So regardless of whether he or they admit to it, it is pretty obvious.

The letter had a Bridgeville postmark, was delivered to Leg. Hall in Dover, and accused Vance Phillips, who lives in Laurel.
I read that as accusing Bodie, who’s the most intelligent and literate of the trio. Neither Ayotte not Christopher could personally have written that letter.
Who, other than the sender, knew that the letter had a Bridgeville postmark?

It’s a fairly easy matter to drive from Georgetown to Bridgeville and drop a letter off to be mailed. Regardless, the timing and the recepients clearly evidence the letter as a response to the nearly concluded battle between the Sussex County Council and the sheriff. Whether the letter was written and sent by a proxy or one of the principles, it has the markings of someone(s) who were the most vocal and visible opponents of Phillips as the leader of the SC Council and supporters of the sheriffs ambitions to be like Mack. The sheriff is motivated by revenge. Don Ayotte and Eric Bodenweiser are both motivated by political ambitions.
This letter was not a concerned citizen doing their civic duty in reporting a possible crime else the letter would have been sent to the DSP. It is what it is, a case of vengeance and ambition. Pointing out that the letter came from Bridgeville (which also demonstrates some inside knowledge) is as obvious as sending a letter to the GA instead of the DSP. When it looks like a duck…
Of course someone can drive to Bridgeville to send a letter, but unless you know who sent it, how can you surmise that that is what happened? Also, injecting the Sussex Sheriff into the situation is something that WE projected onto the situation. I haven’t heard that the letter mentions the Sheriff issue at all. We can guess about who sent the letter, but for Hurley to call the writer the Georgetown BinLaden, tell me he must have some real idea of who did it. Or not.
I didn’t surmise that’s what happened. I essentially pointed out the fact that mailing something from Bridgeville does not mean the mailer resides in Bridgeville. So mailing something from Bridgeville probably would exclude someone in Wilmington but certainly could include anyone residing in Sussex County.
The letter does not need to mention the sheriff or the issue. One merely has to connect the dots, that the letter was sent to a political body and not law enforcement, more than a year after the alleged situation. So it becomes pretty clear it was withheld information that someone decided to now bring to light. One then has only to understand who would have reason to damage Phillips, which leads one to those who have been in recent opposition to Phillips. Simple matter of connecting dots. Note, I did not say one of those folks did it directly, but they all have their proxies available.

I don’t really care who YOU think sent the letter. I’m more interested in the fact that Vance’s laywer seems to think it was someone from Georgetown. The question is: Does Hurley know who sent the letter or is he only making educated guesses? Otherwise, why call the letter writer the “Georgetown” Bin Laden?
Unless Hurley has direct knowledge (and I seriously doubt that whoever wrote it knocked on Hurley’s door and outed him/her self), I surmise that he is making an educated guess as we all have.
The information in the letter sounds too damaging for Phillips to have done it himself. So it’s not a great leap for any and all to connect the dots in the same manner (which most have done). When everyone notices the sun rising in the east, it’s a fairly safe bet that the sun rises in the east.
And I think you are taking the word “Georgetown” much too literally
Marge: Georgetown is the Sussex County seat. In this context, “Georgetown” is being used to represent “Sussex.”
