Really. And the local GOP wonders why we think of them as the Gang Who Can’t Shoot Straight. Memo to Jeff and Sher: You are running for statewide office in Delaware — Pennsylvanians won’t save you from the craziness that is the Delaware GOP.

1. Karen Weldin Stewart Campaign a Reflection of Karen Weldin Stewart, the Insurance Commissioner. There are many things a campaign cannot control: unexpected events, unexpected revelations,  bad luck, the quality of its opponents, among them. However, every campaign has complete and total control over every word of communication that goes out under its name. Whether […]

The GOP isn’t playing hardball, it is playing lunatic ball

Filed in National by on July 19, 2012 12 Comments

I’ve always thought that Democrats have a built in disadvantage when trying to go head to head against bullshit streaming from the modern Republican Party. We are sensible, open to the possibility that our views can change in response to new information, kind and optimistic. Republicans…well….

Booman breaks it down, better than I can:

When Do We Stop Talking About Climate Change as a Theory?
This is what Morse Reservoir in Noblesville, Indiana, just north of Indianapolis, looks like right now:

Romney Bain/tax secrecy moves betting markets – Obama back to 57%

It has taken a day or so to filter into the futures price at intrade and IEM, but you can clearly see the effect that the Bain/Tax secrecy issue is having on Romney. It is still a marathon, and the Rove’s super-pac has yet to unleash it’s most toxic, hate filled stuff, so this number […]

Taking the Mittens Off

Filed in National by on July 19, 2012 22 Comments

We’ve all been pointing and laughing at the Romney campaign as they find it simply impossible to defend not releasing his tax returns. Jonathan Chait writes in NY Magazine that Mitt Romney Gets Angry. And in getting angry, they aren’t going to get smarter, they are going to morph into the comments section of (insert rightwing blog site here) . So that John Sununu trying to tell people that President Obama is not American is not a mistake of the news day — it is the signal that more is coming.
