The Polling Report [8.7.12]

Filed in National by on August 7, 2012

We have some new polls in Washington State, Indiana, Colorado and North Carolina, all but one showing movement towards Obama. Hell, even the national tracking polls have moved in the direction.

Here is the new map:

NATIONAL POLLS
NATIONAL–PRESIDENT (Gallup Tracking Obama 46, Romney 45
NATIONAL–PRESIDENT (Rasmussen Tracking): Obama 47, Romney 45

STATE POLLS
INDIANA–PRESIDENT (Rasmussen): Romney 51, Obama 35

If we counted Rasmussen, this would move Indiana into the Strong Romney category. But we don’t so the state remains Lean Romney.

WASHINGTON–PRESIDENT (SurveyUSA): Obama 54, Romney 37

No change to the status here. Strong Obama.

NORTH CAROLINA–PRESIDENT (PPP): Obama 49, Romney 46

This moves NC from Slim Romney to Slim Obama.

COLORADO–PRESIDENT (PPP): Obama 49, Romney 43

This moves Colorado from Slim Obama to Lean Obama.

GOVERNOR POLLS
NORTH CAROLINA–GOVERNOR (Rasmussen): Pat McCrory (R) 46, Walter Dalton (D) 41
WASHINGTON–GOVERNOR (SurveyUSA): Jay Inslee (D) 48, Rob McKenna (R) 45
