Friday Open Thread [8.10.12]

This is so delicious it has to be fattening.

“At this point, joining Ryan to the ticket would be a huge gamble. Romney would be tapping into Ryan’s immense political talent, but giving up on his win-by-default strategy that has taken a beating but might look good again if, say, some international disaster craters the recovery between now and November. In any case, the conservative drumbeat for Ryan has grown so overwhelming that it’s no longer even clear that Romney could turn Ryan down for an Incredibly Boring White Guy, even if he wants to. The Republican Party belongs to Ryan.”

What an incredibly weak man Mitt Romney is. He has been bullied by the right wing of his party for years. And because he has no principles and no core other than his greed and ambition, he gladly gave in to the extreme right at every opportunity. And now, during the most important presidential decision a presidential candidate can make, it looks like Mitt Romney is revealing to all of us exactly how he will act as President: like a frightened coward scared of the extreme right. Mitt will do everything the right asks of him. Just like Grover Norquist and others have said.

Alright ladies and gentlemen, I am off for vacation for the next week. I have scheduled all the Daily Delawheres every morning, but my excellent colleagues will keep you entertained. Please don’t burn down the state in my absence. I know where everything in Delaware is placed and will know if you guys have a party.

Bacon For Smitty Comment: Related to our conversation of ditching Papa John’s for the grown up stuff, here is an interestingly low carb version of pizza — Bacon Crust Pizza.

Very creative! Not sure I’d do the work to make this, tho.

There is nothing extreme about Paul Ryan, just thoughtful, intelligent, and visionary. Pretty much the opposite of Delaware Liberal.

Hahahaha. So visionary that he can see all the way back to 1931, to the great era of no Social Security and no Medicare.

Don’t get us wrong David, we are ecstatic that Paul Ryan will be Romney’s VP. It will make the landslide all that much more larger.

Just saw The Campaign. Not at all “family friendly” but very, very funny… John Lithgow and Dan Akroyd portray our favorite billionaire bullshit brothers.
