Open Thread – Go Rob!
The Ryan pick was aimed at keeping two people on Romney’s side, both named Koch. How popular is the Romney/Ryan budget out in the parts of country not populated by billionaires?
The Ryan budget’s impact on the most vulnerable is powerful among key swing voters, including unmarried women, who shifted a net 10 points toward Obama, the Rising American Electorate (net 3-point shift), and independents (net 9-point shift). Even conservatives were swayed, shifting a net 13 points toward Obama.
Seconded! Go Rob!
GQ puts up a piece by Wells Tower chronicling his time following Mitt on the primary trail on assignment. It is long (8 pages) bu worth every second. Mitt, the press following him, Mitt’s supporters — there aren’t many folks here who come out on the other side looking good.
Great read. Thanks, Cass.
Showing how the Press Bus worked to largely concentrate the development of the narratives was intriguing. Wonder what campaign coverage would look like without an official press escort?
One more — Media Matters speaks to a bunch of Wisconsin local reporters to find out what they want you to know about Paul Ryan.
The comparison is apt. Cheney always failed upward. Teabags sure seem to LOVE thier carerist bunglers.
Romney’s pick is not about sating the Koch brothers. Here’s Slate’s take:

@Jason330: Also, it’s hard to take a person seriously when the person uses pejorative terms. You don’t have to agree with the Tea Party to treat it (and its members) with respect.
Thanks for the link. I think you only read the headline though. Also, I don’t respect teabags and I don’t want people who take Christine ODonnell seriously to take me seriously.
That Wells Tower piece was fluff and nothingness. The Boys on the Bus said all that, in a less condescending, far more readable fashion, several decades ago.
For those who have heard Colin Flaherty’s recent rantings on WDEL about “race wars” in America, Salon’s Alex Pareene has a takedown of Flaherty’s e-book “White Girl Bleed a Lot.”

Thanks for the link. How does that nut get air time on WDEL? Is it paid?
Colin gets airtime because Rick Jensen needs a RWNJ counter to Colin’s sane brother John who periodically fills in when Al or Rick is taking time off.
When Jensen is off and John flies solo in his time slot it’s like breathing clean air for three hours.
When Colin is on, it’s like the stacks blew at the Delaware City refinery.
Thanks for the link Geez. Colin is scum-central.
