Urquhart to beat Lopez

Filed in National by on August 14, 2012

Why the bold prediction? The guy is so super cool about beating Lopez that he put this video about seeing the Loch Ness Monster up on his campaign web site.

What has Lopez seen? The Jersey Devil? Sasquatch? Tax cuts that magically create jobs shooting out of a magical UNICORN’S ASS? What fantastical crypto-zoological beast can Lopez possibly use to one up Urq, and pull this out?

It is going to be Mr. “Hitler invented the separation of Church and state – I saw the Loch Ness Monster” Urquhart in a walk. Good news for Andy Staton.

Lopez will win by five points. He has done a great job of door-to-door campaigning. The Tea Party is not as strong in this district as in others.

Neither man has knocked on my door.

  3. chlorophil says:

“When I was serving in the Reagan administration…”

I’m pretty sure THIS was the entire point of this video/story.

  4. JJ says:

Ernie Lopez will win on old fashioned grass roots campaigning. A lot of folks forget that Lopez was the first guy to call out Paul Clark and his wife on major conflicts back in the day when Lopez challenged Paul Clark. A true prophet indeed!

For the primary, Lopez has some serious conservative endorsements/ supporters behind him– John Burris, Joe Schell, Sens. Bonini, and Lawson. Urqhuart is damaged goods after his slash job win against Michelle Rollins/loss to John Carney and his strong links to that ‘wiley coyote’ Vance Phillips. That connection doesn’t play well on the east side of the county.

  5. Jason330 says:

So ghere are no teabags east of Milton? I think slash job gives Urquhart street cred. What teabag cred does Lopez have ?

  6. anon says:

Staton is ahead in fundraising-raising almost $83K and spending $39, Lopez is next-raising $51K and spending $30K and Urquhart raised $36K and spent $68K.

Looks like another campaign for Urquhart where he can’t raise money and he ends up in the red.

I wonder if the Loch Ness monster story will help him with fundraising.

  7. Aoine says:

What is so funny here is that I was wndering when Urquhart was gonna tell Sam Wilson that Urquharts grand-daddy is Jewish?

and when does he stop trading on the Tea-bag creds? It does NOT play well on the east side of the county indeed….

not too many tea-baggers there – they have cloistered themselves to the west

wonder how Ayotte is doing with that???

  8. Cooter says:

    Isn’t Vance running Urquharts campaign….again?

Also, why cant us voters get answers to glenurquhartforsenate.com allegations. The answer Glen gave me personally was “its an establishment witch hunt.” If thats the case cant his buddy Christine ODonnell help him out?

  9. Cooter says:

By the way, dont we have a seatbelt law in Delaware?

  10. anon says:

Why would the Chairman of the National Capital Planning Commission, whose mission was to “protect and enhance the historic, cultural, and natural resources of the national capital,” have to go to the USSR for the Reagan Administration? Sounds like a junkett to me. Did we taxpayers have to pay for Urquhart and his cronies to play around at Loch Ness, too? And where is his seatbelt?

  11. jason330 says:

The story is full of lies. It isn’t 59 degrees in Scotland in January. Try 38 degrees liar! The guy has no credibility.

  12. anon says:

This clip also proves that Glen was a NOBODY in the Reagan Administration. On January 25, 1984, Reagan was giving his State of the Union Adress while Glen was dicking around in Scotland.

“Lopez has some serious conservative endorsements/ supporters behind him– John Burris, Joe Schell, Sens. Bonini, and Lawson”

Burris? Bonini? Serious? Thats funny. Only thing funnier is Bonini contacting some leaders in the gay community asking them for help in getting LGBTs to change registration and vote for Lopez in the primary. It was met with laughter. A jokester, that Bonini.

  14. Milton says:

I am a lifelong Democrat, liberal and gay male and don’t know why anybody would support Andy Staton? ….(unless it’s a wealthy old gay man, he seems to like them an awful lot). Staton is simply the most insincere person I’ve ever met in the Rehoboth gay community. Andy Staton behaves more like a conservative than a liberal. He’s all about money, big money, old man money, country clubs, fine art, caviar, etc.. Talk to him personally and you’ll see, he can’t speak to you for one minute without mentioning something to do with wealth.

Staton’s type further segregate the gay community into “haves” and “have nots”. A-gays, black tie gays, whatever they call themselves, I call it rubbish.

Andy is a megalomaniac, his over-stuffed ego is fed by this run for political office. Unfortunately, voting for somebody just because they’re gay or a liberal is the wrong reason to cast a vote.

plus, anybody notice how much Staton looks and talks like Richard Simmons ?

  15. JPconnorjr says:

FYI. “Milton’s” post is similar to the smear campaign cirsculating in the district. Andy is eminently qualified and an all round good guy. This kind of crap won’t stick.

  16. tommyrehoboth says:

I have never had a conversation with Andy Staton, but a couple of years ago I overheard him having a very lengthy one. It formed my first impression of him…a very positive one at that.

Back to Urquhart, the topic of this thread: Has anyone seen his clip titled “Thoughts on Sunglasses”? I don’t know quite what to say about it, but I’m guessing that if Alex Pires were running against Urquhart, he would ask him to release his medical records.
