The end of the work week — I never thought it would get here. This is going to be another weekend working on campaigns for me — what are you doing this weekend?

Paul Ryan has been telling everyone that the band Rage Against the Machine is one of his favorite bands — something that folks who’ve ever heard them probably did a spit take on. The incomparable Tom Morello heard that too and he tells everyone that Paul Ryan Is the Embodiment of the Machine Our Music Rages Against

Ryan claims that he likes Rage’s sound, but not the lyrics. Well, I don’t care for Paul Ryan’s sound or his lyrics. He can like whatever bands he wants, but his guiding vision of shifting revenue more radically to the one percent is antithetical to the message of Rage.

Don’t mistake me, I clearly see that Ryan has a whole lotta “rage” in him: A rage against women, a rage against immigrants, a rage against workers, a rage against gays, a rage against the poor, a rage against the environment. Basically the only thing he’s not raging against is the privileged elite he’s groveling in front of for campaign contributions.

Here is another great story from NPR this morning — a woman who was part of a white supremacist group when she was 16 (and where she witnessed a racist murder), works at raising her kids to be accepting of peole in the world and wants to work with kids before they get captured by these racist groups.
