Damn straight. Those are the words of a true Christian, for you will notice that the President understands the true teachings of Jesus of compassion, good works and humility rather than the perverted Christianist form that Evangelicals adhere to now, where you have to be selfish, greedy, and hateful of your fellow man.

I agree with two thirds of Mr. Santorum’s statement, the latter two thirds. The only way Santorum’s party wins is if this campaign is about lies. How very Christian of him.
Local education notes:
1. Delaware announces launch of the Education Insight data system.
2. Third and final DOE regulatory review meeting tomorrow evening, this one in NCC. I think this is an opportunity educators should not pass up. I’ll be attending this one, so if you have comments you’d like me to bring please post them here or over on my site. Meeting is tomorrow Thursday Aug. 23, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the New Castle County Government Center, 77 Reads Way, New Castle.

More to the point: For three consecutive years, Mr. Clark either proposed (as county exec) or voted to approve (as council president) budgets that consistently underestimated county revenues.

Today, I was invited to the University of Delaware and Delaware First Media debate. I was provided with the usual money-centered qualification reasoning used as a litmus test of a “serious” candidate. As my campaign has de-emphasized the monetary accoutrements of a “classical” run for office, my representation of both the Libertarian Party of Delaware and The Green party of Delaware seem to hold no merit at all, even though the State recognizes our credibility and seriousness by including us on the November ballot. The result of this apparent exclusion is to disenfranchise Green and Libertarian voters to have their selected representatives put forth their subscribed positions on today’s most important issues in the public market of ideas in an arbitrary and irrational manner. All in all, which ever way things turn out debate-wise, I guarantee October 16th will be a very interesting night for those choosing to be in Newark for the “festivities”. Whether it is to be on stage in ideological battle or outside demanding to be heard. Freedom, Liberty and Democracy have not yet been driven from the hearts and minds of the American people. Nor shall it stand that those in power will affect this abomination.
Andrew: You said you were invited, which you previously hadn’t been. So what are you complaining about now? I can’t make it through all the 1960s rhetoric and self-righteousness in your post.
SW, I apologize for the use of big words too complicated for you to understand. The invitation is “conditional” and there is plenty of room to complain. The News Journal has published at least one article, one blog entry and multiple letters to the editor related to this controversy. 60’s rhetoric? Well, I guess fairness and equality are retro.
