Friday Polling Report [9.28.12]

Filed in National by on September 28, 2012

Now this ironic, from the Dallas Morning News:

“For all the talk about whether Mitt Romney should distance himself from George W. Bush — and the policies of the last GOP White House — a new survey shows that the former president actually has better favorability ratings than the Republican nominee.”

Well, we know Bush’s policies are still vastly unpopular, but Bush himself, by staying out of sight, as grown less hated. Even I don’t hate the man anymore. He’s a bubbling idiot and I enjoy laughing at him now. Indeed, Mr. Bush’s latest venture into public speaking will be right before the election in the Cayman Islands, and he will be speaking about investing your money wisely. I kid you not. No, this is not a headline from the Onion. Anyway, the most recent Bloomberg poll shows Bush with a 46% to 49% favorable rating as compared to Romney’s 43% to 50%.

No major changes in our map today. Indiana moved to Strong Romney, but that’s it. The rest of the polling confirmed prior results.

Sorry DD, I’m not softening on Bush. He is soaked in blood and is also responsible for the impoverishment of millions in the economy he was entrusted with.

We were talking about polling for Gary Johnson (the Libertarian candidate for President) yesterday, and today I run across this: Poll Shows Romney Winning High Water Mark for Libertarian Vote.

Once you get past the claim that Libertarians are a “key swing vote”, go to the bottom of the article to see how Libertarians have voted in Presidential elections since 1980. What you discover, is that Libertarians vote for the Republican candidate BY A WIDE MARGIN, except in 1992, when a third of them voted for Perot. So everyone who keeps making the case that Libertarians are just embarrassed Republicans should bookmark this page. Not only are they Republicans, they aren’t even embarrassed by it, if this data is correct.

I was born in DE.., and lived there for thirty years. This article make me very happy I ileft. How anybody could overlook the incompetence of Obama is truly amazing.
We have two choices, a guy who spends like a drunkin sailor and gets no results beyond passing our tax money to his contributors , and a guy who has held major leadership positions and made money and been succesful.
Only in an ice blue state would anyone support the former.
Obama makes Jimmy Carter look like a leader.

  4. SussexAnon says:

The current GOP makes Reagan look like a flaming liberal.

Osama Bin Ladin is dead and General Motors is alive.

Thats 2 things Obama has done that Romney has said he would not have.

The shopping is still tax free here in DE anytime you wanna stop by.

  5. General Dooku says:

You forgots the secret sales tax!!! That general receipts tax that says “suck it, business owner”

Nothing says liberal like underhanded taxation!

  6. John young says:

The DE gross receipts tax on retail products is a backdoor sales tax, no doubt.

  7. puck says:

Let’s keep some perspective on gross receipts tax. It is well under one percent (0.75% for retailers, 0.18% for manufacturers) and has been cut since last year. I don’t think that’s “sucking it” for businesses. http://www.revenue.delaware.gov/information/grrates.shtml

  8. General Dooku says:

And what is the “net” tax paid relative to earnings? Much higher.
