I don’t get this DEGOP line of attack against Markell
We Want a Four Year Full-Time Governor!
Dear Voter,
During the past few Gubernatorial debates we have begun to see a different side of Governor Markell, one that he does not want the voters to see. When the Governor is asked about why he will not sign a pledge to serve his full term in office, he gets defensive and refuses to answer the question.
Uhh… ? What is Sigler thinking with this? – “Most people like Markell, but if we make them think that he will leave prior to finishing his term, they’ll hate him.” – “Our guy sucks, but at least nobody will be asking him to serve in an administration.”
I mean really. Is this a strategy?
So. In other words, They Got Nothin’.
Seriously, they can’t even fundraise on this BS.
Perhaps he’s suggesting that the real choice is between Cragg and Matt Denn. They lose that one too.
Seriously . . . the possibility of Matt being Governor sooner makes the deal even sweeter . . . LOL
There may be a valid attack line here – that he’s spending too much time out of state and on national issues – but a silly pledge is not the way to make your point.
Since these jobs are unique (there are only 60 governors in the US), I wonder how one determines whether time spent in the state provides better governance than when on the road somewhere? Bush (yeah, yeah I know) spent a lot of time in Crawford, but that did not mean we was not conducting business and doing his job.
I’ve lived in Delaware for less than 2 years. I’ve seen Markell twice already. I lived in Virginia for 11 years and I don’t think I was ever in the same town as the governor. I lived in California for twenty-some odd years and about the best I can say is that both the governor and I were somewhere in Northern California at the same time.
When the Governor of Delaware holds the door open at the Buttery for me, I’m sorry, but I’m impressed.
How many??????
Heh, heh.
I counted territorial and sovereign governors as well. I wanted to see who would notice.
The spectre of Markell not finishing out his term and being replaced by Matt Denn is every bit as unnerving as Alex Pires’ claim that Tom Carper will not be able to fill out HIS term, and will have to be replaced by a nominee of Jack Markell’s or…Matt Denn’s.
Oh, the humanity!
