Christine O’Donnell Defends Eric Bodenweiser, calls Indictment “Tacky.”

Filed in National by on October 24, 2012

WGMD has the audio of Christine O’Donnell’s reaction to the Eric Bodenweiser indictmenet. Christine O’Donnell, mind you, is the presumptive GOP nominee to run against Sen. Chris Coons in 2014.

Here is the transcript:

CHRISTINE O’DONNELL: That’s why these sort of, charges are so, are so, potent as political weapons because they put a seed of doubt in someone’s mind. If you do it as an October surprise there’s not enough time between when they throw the bomb on election day for the truth to really emerge and, um, it’s just, it’s tacky and it’s what happened to our political system.

This is the same woman whose campaign spread rumors about Mike Castle being gay. Seriously, Christine, shut the fuck up. You are the ultimate practitioner of what you call “tacky” politics. You and your tea party has been using lies, rumors, racism and innuedo since your arrival on the political scene.

Further, this is not tacky. It is tragic. A Horror. And if these charges are true, Eric Bodenweiser is a monster that needs to be put away forever. Yes, forever. Until he dies in prison. Seriously, it is that freaking serious.

  1. anon says:

I am totally convinced that this woman has no soul.

  2. Jason330 says:

The “October surprise” is that Christine O’Donnell is still asked for her opinion on things. This audio should put an end to that.

  3. V says:

oooh no. there’s no way this is real right?

she knows the difference between spreading rumors (even if it’s hypocritical) and a grand jury indictment right?

Spreading rumors with no basis is tacky, plastic flowers at your wedding is tacky. This is serious. That video LG posted was bad but this is it. She’s DONE.

  4. anon says:

It’s real and it’s from yesterday.

Frmr U.S. Senate Candidate Christine O’Donnell Speaks Out About Indictment Filed Against Frmr 19th District Senate Candidate Eric Bodenweiser

Former U.S. Senate Candidate Christine O’Donnell is NO stranger to political attacks.

Now, she’s speaking out about former 19th District Senate Candidate Eric Bodenweiser’s indictment Monday on 113 felony sex crimes:

    AUDIO

The Attorney General’s indictment alleges that Bodenwesier sexually abused a boy starting when he was 10, between October 1987 through August 1990.

When someone asks, “What kind of terrible person would defend someone indicted on 113 charges of child rape and molestation?” now you know the answer.

  5. Frank says:

    The Stupid. It burns.

  6. Bob H says:

It is a total fact that R’s are leaving the party and changing registration to “unaffiliated” or independent. Last week I looked at the figures of registered voters, 49% D; 27% R; 24% unaffiliated. I know this is going on, because I am one myself. I met with a group of R’s two nights ago, who plan soon as the election is over making the same change. (you can’t change now due to Dept. of Election rules as it’s too close to the election.) This R exodus is being jokingly referred to as “the broomstick effect.” I personally think COD is largely responsible…

  7. Walt says:

Hey, when are the liberals going to get mobili$ed and support Ms. Hovington in the 19th Senate race. Sans Bodie, she will be the only name on the ballot, but she’s in danger of losing to a write-in.C’mon, let’s get moving!

  8. Geezer says:

@Bob H: It doesn’t really help if all the sane people leave the party. That just guarantees the loonies will win every primary.

  9. Geezer says:

“Hey, when are the liberals going to get mobili$ed and support Ms. Hovington in the 19th Senate race.”

It’$ too late for that. Look at it this way — even if she won, she would be doomed to defeat in the next cycle.

  10. Dave says:

Yeah, but there are two schools of thought on this. One is (mine) marginalize the party into non-existence, paving the way for a new/old responsible partyd who seeks to effectively govern. The second is to stick it out and fight for what’s right. With the second you get tarred and feathered by both sides. On one side, there is guilt by association (All Republicans are…). On the other, the whacks scream that you are RINO and need to get the hell out of “their” party.

While my way is passive agressive at least I can avoid all the screaming and along the way sane party leaders (are there any?) may get the message and stop being held hostage by whacks.

On a related note, Bodie made the UK papers, with photos!: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2221963/Republican-state-senate-candidate-charged-100-counts-child-sex-abuse.html?ito=feeds-newsxml

  11. Bob H says:

Geezer: How does it help, work, or have any value to stick with a sinking ship? you just drown like the rest. Get away from the crazies, and one might have a chance to start over.

  12. Geezer says:

In what way are you “going down” with the ship? It’s a letter after your name, not one you have to wear in scarlet on your coat. You remove yourself from being able to shape either party at the primary level, which is a loss to you; by registering independent, you gain nothing, because no harm came to you by registering Republican.

Registering with a party just because you support it is possibly the stupidest thing a voter could do. There are better logical reasons for registering with the party you DON’T support.

  13. Geezer says:

Dave: It’s quite easy to register Republican (or Democrat) and just tell people you’re an independent. Why give up your right to vote in one of the primaries?

  14. Dave says:

    @Geezer,

You know. I ask myself that question on a regular basis. I guess it’s the principle, and maybe a stupid one. I suppose I could just do as you say…I dunno, I been told that I have no principles so I kinda figured maybe I should keep at least one.

But..I have one very good reason…all the junk mail, email, phone calls, ad nauseum. Once you get on list it is incessant. I’d love to turn it off but you can’t. So there’s that.

  15. Geezer says:

@Dave: Good point on the junk mail. I like to keep an eye on that stuff for work purposes, so it’s not a drawback for me.

  16. Dorian Gray says:

Honestly I’ve always thought arresting somebody for dozens of alledged instances of child rape is in such poor taste. It’s a breach of political etiquette really, which perfectly encapsulates political mores really…

  17. Corn and barley says:

Tacky???? What three time Party switcher rev bullock who plays both parties for FOOLS ? Funny till you think about the national baptist convention being the guidebook for the county council. Separation of church state ? Liberals are so full of it. Trash odonnell and say nothing about an ordained minister in public office you suck

  18. Delaware Dem says:

Too much barley and not enough corn me thinks.

  19. Jason330 says:

Protack sure has a strange campaign style.

  20. cassandra m says:

I’ve been moderating this BS. Maybe what I should do is capture these in a single post and call it Mike Protack Campaigns at DL. Would that get to the top of Google search?

  21. socialistic ben says:

i thought there were rules about outing.

  22. cassandra m says:

Not for people who persist in tagging this site with this BS and who have been banned for doing it previously.

  23. My councilwoman, Lisa Diller, was a practicing minister when she was first elected to NCC and most people thought she was a breath of fresh air. The profession of church ministry is an evil to be avoided? Only in Protack’s twisted mind.

  24. heragain says:

I say yes to collecting, Cassandra. We can post it to facebook to get it to the top of the google search.

  25. bIRD330 says:

Hey Bill, A.K.A. Nos Moking, why dont you go back to New York! You are a Hypocritical Ass Monkey with nothing better to do then slander other’s. You claim to have known Bodenweiser for 2 years…yea thats a good enough amount of time to REALLY know someone! Give me a break! You are a joke!! Claiming the that you know all this information about the Victim, when in fact you know nothing! Get a grip! Your kind is not wanted in Delaware. You and COD should be Bunk mates along with EB!!

  26. Mayan2012 says:

    “I’m not a witch….I’m just like you”
Not by a long shot, you crazy teabagger.

  27. Justwondering says:

    What’s Protack’s issue?

  28. bIRD330 says:

Boycott Christine O’Donnell in 2014!! She is just a ” Tacky Piece of Chit ” !!

  29. Another Mike says:

COD, who never met a microphone or camera she didn’t like, responded by text message to inquiries from TNJ about her “tacky” comment.

“”When I used the word tacky, I was referring to the false accusations brought against me by [former state GOP chairman] Tom Ross and former GOP leaders during my 2010 U.S. Senate race,” she said in a text-message response to a phone call seeking comment.”

Sure you were. That’s why you made it so clear in that interview. The first two comments in this thread are so right. Those of us who were hoping she would just go away have been so disappointed.

  30. anon says:

Is she really saying that WGMD, her epicenter of support took her out of context? The story and the audio are still up on their site. If the WGMD news story was a lie, why hasn’t it been retracted, why is Kelli Steele, the newsperson who wrote it, still in the newsroom every day with Bill Colley?

Either WGMD’s news story is a lie or O’Donnell is full of shit.

  31. Jconnor says:

WGOP has taken story down. But the sound bite is all over the web;)

  32. socialistic ben says:

anon, whether or not the news story is a lie… CoD(fish) is still full of shit.

  33. Truth Teller says:

I am sure that the AG’s office and the State Police have their Ducks in a row on this one.Taking into account that the crimes happened years ago. And COD should be reminded that the indictments were handed down by a Sussex County Grand Jury which more than likely had a few teabaggers on it.

  34. WWB says:

Putting aside O’Donnell specifically for a minute, here’s a question I have that none of the “Bodenweiser was set up by the Democrats” crowd has been able to answer: Why would Democrats worry about torpedoing a candidate for a seat in a body where Dems already hold a 2-1 margin, and the seat in question is already held by a Republican? Especially when said candidate’s positions are fully on the lunatic fringe and after he got elected he would only manage to make himself and those who supported him look like the idiots they are?

It’s a circus maximus of delusional thinking. As a friend related to me a couple of days ago…he was talking to a Republican who he knows who proceeded to tell him all about how people in the Georgetown area knew about these rumors for ages, etc etc, then he ended the conversation by saying that Bodenweiser was “set up.” Scooby Doo moment: Rhuh? Ree-ree???

  35. geezer says:

@WWB: What he means is that when a rumor is around for years but catches fire at election time, usually it’s no coincidence. In this case the alleged victim freely stated that he sounded the alarm because the accused was on the verge of winning public office. Somebody had to have told him about it; I doubt Eric Bodenweiser winning a primary election in Delaware made the newspapers in Florida. You can probably do the rest of the math.

  36. GOP is filing suit to put a candidate on the ballot for the 19th District. DE First News has the story. DE Way has the links 🙂

  37. Nancy-

TNJ has the story as well. Unfortunately, what passes for journalism at TNJ these days would have resulted in an F from my middle school English teacher. Yes, they used to teach students about the newspaper in middle school. The TNJ article doesn’t even mention WHO is being sued. The headline says “officials”, but no details other than “elections officials” are given in the article.

  38. Chest Rockwell says:

Those who live in the frightened reactionary echo chamber, that has become increasingly distorted and loud, will defend even the most abhorrent behavior of their fellow inhabitants.

Christine O’Donnell is solely a political animal with no other marketable talent. Being talentless requires one to be completely dependent on their alliances. When threatened, the political animal will lash out defensively in the direction of the perceived threat. Listening to Miss O’Donnell’s reaction, one would have thought that she herself had been charged with Mr. Bodenweiser’s alleged acts.
