Romney thinks Federal disaster relief is immoral
Hopefully we will not need it.
MORE from Delaware Dem: Romney campaign confirms Romney’s position on FEMA is to shut it down and return it to the states. Disasters like Hurricane Sandy, which will impact 10 states or more, would bankrupt all of them, and would lead to untold and unnecessary death that could be prevented.

Umm, didn’t our worst president ever already try shutting down FEMA by staffing it with incompetent cronies? We saw how that worked out.
As opposed to the Federal Goverment already being bankrupt.
All the Federal Goverment is doing is borrowing money from China and giving that money to the states. Why not eliminate the middle man and just have Markell take a loan from Bejing?
Or we could eliminate FEMA and let the states budget money every year for such disasters (suppliment with insurance). If the people in the states knew what the true cost of was maybe people would make adult decisions.

Adult decisions like raising taxes on corporations and the wealthy, right Susan? Or childish and selfish decisions like giving yet more tax breaks to the wealthy all the while cutting necessary government programs like Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and FEMA. I think the petulant Susan supports the latter.
Besides, the Federal Government doesn’t borrow most of its money from the Chinese. But then, this kind of sheer ignorance is the universal gang sign of the current teajadi repub.

@Susan: The term you’re looking for is “distant second is China.” Your failure to understand what that means is your problem, not ours.
Beyond that, think for a second, if that’s possible: YOU won’t save any money, nor will other taxpayers. The only change is to the balance on the books of the federal government and the various states.
