National Results Thread

Filed in National by on November 6, 2012

So the majority of the contributors at DL will be at the Queen tonight celebrating the reelections of the President, Vice President, Governor Markell, and Lt. Governor Denn, among others. So I don’t know if we will be able to update the blog as often as we would like to. So post whatever you are hearing here, whether it has to with national results. There will be another thread for Delaware results. And can I say, thank God this is over!!!

  1. V says:

I am pacing my house and yelling about poll results to the family cats.

    HOLD ME, CHRIS MATTHEWS.

  2. Chris Matthews would just yell with you. Perhaps at you!

  3. I’ll be at home b/c I’m always too bleeping nervous. So I’ll try to do my part…just keep in mind, I’ll be drinking.

  4. JConnor says:

Well ya voted for the only guy today on an evangelical Christian and Phony Mobley/Obama Ballot you should be so proud….. I guess your Women’s right position does have its limits!

  5. It does. I don’t vote for incompetent ignoramuses who screw Delaware policyholders.

BTW, very early results from Indiana, where some polls closed at 6. Donnelly significantly outperforming Obama. With about 85,000 votes cast, Romney leads Obama, 60%-38%, but Mourdock only leads Donnelly, 49%-45%. I’d say looking good for Donnelly. Hey, if you can’t have Ben Nelson, might as well have someone JUST LIKE Ben Nelson.

  6. 7 p.m.: Romney wins Indiana, Kentucky.
    Obama wins Vermont.

Va too close to call, GA, SC too early.

    Senate: Bernie Sanders wins Vermont.

  7. Tom McKenney says:

My daughter is voting in Va. she has been in line an hour with a two hour projected wait. It may be a long night.

  8. 7:30 pm: Polls close in Ohio, NC, West Virginia.

Romney wins West Virginia. Too close to call in Ohio and North Carolina.

Incumbent Sen. D Joe Manchin projected to win West Virginia.

  9. 7:35: Romney now projected to win South Carolina.

    All projections NBC.

  10. 7:55: Romney projected to win Georgia.

    Donnelly’s lead expanding in Indiana.

  11. 8 pm: Pa, NJ,too early to call (but Obama has lead), Fla, NH too close to call (but Obama has lead in Fla.);

Obama wins Illinois, Mass., Conn., Maine, RI, DE(!), DC, Md.

    Romney wins Tennessee, OK, Alabama.

Senate: Angus King wins in Maine, Bill Nelson wins in FL, Tom Carper in DE, Ben Cardin in Maryland. R Roger Wicker wins in Miss., R Bob Corker in Tenn.

Several ‘too early to call’ Senate races: Mass, Conn, Pa, Missouri, but all trending D.

  12. Miscreant says:

I’m in Kansas City with a shitload of in-laws. My wife and I are the only conservatives in the room, perhaps the county. It’s just like a visit to Delaware Liberal.
    Good times.

  13. Chris Murphy projected over Linda McMahon in CT Sen. The WWE McMahons spent over $100 mill of their own $$’s, and lost twice.

  14. Liberal Elite says:

@ES “The WWE McMahons spent over $100 mill of their own $$’s, and lost twice.”

We thank her for stimulating the economy.

In fact, one of the only way to get rich people to actually stimulate the economy is to let them throw away their money on losing elections.

The right wing GOP candidates want to run on “the economy stinks”, but they spend enough in the process to make the economy look good.

    WIN WIN!!

  15. John Manifold says:

Our favorite Democrat, Jan Ting, on TV-12, gives good teevee.

  16. John Manifold says:

Put your clothes back on, Scott.

  17. ek says:

    The president takes Pennsylvania

  18. puck says:

    Weird Romney quote:

Asked about a rumor that he might adopt a puppy after the campaign, Romney laughed. “If, assuming I win, one of the benefits would be to get another Weimaraner,” he said.

  19. Justwondering says:

    Warren projected winner of Massachusetts!

  20. Woo-hoo! D Donnelly projected as winner in Indiana.

  21. puck says:

I bet Repubs are sorry now they blocked Elizabeth Warren as head of consumer protection.

  22. ek says:

The president has taken New Hampshire.

  23. socialistic ben says:

Akin and Murdoch out, Tammy Baldwin in!

  24. Liberal Elite says:

    Called for Obama!!

  25. ek says:

AP calls Ohio for Obama, NBC calls the race.

  26. AQC says:

    LIFE IS GOOD!!!

  27. socialistic ben says:

good night for the good guys.

  28. chlorophil says:

Fox News might be walking it back…

  29. John Young says:

Fox decision desk stands by their Obama call.

  30. pandora says:

    Romney campaign won’t concede Ohio!

  31. Liberal Elite says:

@p “Romney campaign won’t concede Ohio!”

It don’t matter. Obama is also apparently winning FL, VA, CA, and NV.

  32. John Young says:

Romney dreams dying hard. He needs to concede. ASAP.

  33. Skeptic says:

Karl Rove’s head is about to explode on Fox…

  34. socialistic ben says:

he wont. the narrative has already begun. Romney really won, Obama stole it, they will fight this to the end.

  35. pandora says:

I shudder to think you’re correct, Ben.

  36. heragain says:

    Best live feed?

  37. V says:

I agree with SB. They were operating on their own set of polls and their own reality that projected a Romney win. I see further “voter fraud protection” laws on the horizon.

  38. Jason330 says:

Republucans can’t stop poisoning the well of American politics.

  39. Naah, Rove’s just posturing so that Rethugs don’t realize that he’s fleeced ’em for hundreds of millions of dollars.

  40. John Young says:

    Rove = clown show.

  41. skeptic says:

Christ almighty, even if Mittens were to somehow take back OH and carry Florida, he still doesn’t get to 270…just concede already jackass!

  42. pandora says:

Looks like AP is calling Virginia for Obama. CBS projecting Obama winner in Virginia.

A concession speech would be classy, no?

  43. Jason330 says:

    Fucking Romney. What a douche.

  44. V says:

how could the poors beat him? preposterous!

(also, my new boyfriend Cory Booker is on MSNBC right now)

  45. skeptic says:

Yeah, and the talking heads on Fox were already talking about what a “classy” campaign Romney ran and how mean old Obama was so negative, I kid you not.

  46. pandora says:

Romney to speak at 12:55. As the loser he has an important job to do – hopefully he’s watched past concession speeches.

  47. pandora says:

Romney has called President Obama to concede. Concession speech coming up.

  48. skeptic says:

Not holding my breath, and going to bed now. What really bothers me is how low so many on the right have stooped over the past four years. From house members stating that their job was to see the POTUS fail, to the “you lie!” moment to the refusal to call out the idiot birther movement. Their numbers are shrinking, so they better wake up or get used to a lot of nights like this one.

  49. V says:

BRING IT TAMMY BALDWIN. MSNBC has finally called it.

SO PROUD of both my Tammys

  50. V says:

    where’s Anne?

  51. pandora says:

Good question, V. Where is Anne?

  52. V says:

Also, where’ s Ryan? He’s all alone. This is sorta sad.

also also, did you see that FACE after “after anne paul ryan was the best choice i ever made” ?

  53. pandora says:

Where’s Paul Ryan? Aren’t there usually the VP and spouse standing off to the side of the candidate.

    See?

    http://www.monacome.com/2008/11/video-transcript-mccain-concession.html

  54. V says:

this is seriously like the saddest thing i’ve ever seen.

  55. V says:

    THERE they are

Anne looks like she’s going to burst into tears at any moment.

  56. Jason330 says:

What a dick. He could have done that two hours ago.

  57. pandora says:

Okay, that’s it. I’m off to bed – have to get up in four hours. Congratulations, everyone!

Oh, and Nate Silver rocks! (and quite a few people owe him an apology.)
