Romney 100% Believes His 47% Comment

Here’s Mitt Romney being a jerk and a sore loser and doing his best to further divide the country:

Saying that he and his team still felt “troubled” by his loss to President Obama, Mitt Romney on Wednesday attributed his defeat in part to what he called big policy “gifts” that the president had bestowed on loyal Democratic constituencies, including young voters, African-Americans and Hispanics.

[…]

“With regards to the young people, for instance, a forgiveness of college loan interest was a big gift,” Mr. Romney said. “Free contraceptives were very big with young, college-aged women. And then, finally, Obamacare also made a difference for them, because as you know, anybody now 26 years of age and younger was now going to be part of their parents’ plan, and that was a big gift to young people. They turned out in large numbers, a larger share in this election even than in 2008.”

[…]

“You can imagine for somebody making $25,000 or $30,000 or $35,000 a year, being told you’re now going to get free health care, particularly if you don’t have it, getting free health care worth, what, $10,000 per family, in perpetuity — I mean, this is huge,” Mr. Romney said. “Likewise with Hispanic voters, free health care was a big plus. But in addition with regards to Hispanic voters, the amnesty for children of illegals, the so-called Dream Act kids, was a huge plus for that voting group.”

May I suggest that one of the main reasons Mr. Romney lost was due to comments like these, along with a stunning contempt for most people?

Bobby Jindal countered Mitt’s sour grapes temper tantrum by basically saying, “So long, loser.  Don’t let the door hit you on the ass…”

Jindal said that he “absolutely reject[s]” Romney’s comments and that they were indicative of broader problems for the GOP as they regroup in the wake of last week’s defeat.

“If we’re going to continue to be a competitive party and win elections on the national stage and continue to fight for our conservative principles, we need two messages to get out loudly and clearly: One, we are fighting for 100 percent of the votes, and secondly, our policies benefit every American who wants to pursue the American dream, period,” he said. “No exceptions.”

Looks like Jindal is trying to carve out the sane niche for 2016.  Good luck with that, Bobby.  Have you met your base?

But let’s get back to Romney’s comment.  Look at who he blames – African Americans, Hispanics, Women and young people.  The exact groups Republicans must win if they hope to survive as a party, Mitt Romney just trashed.

You gotta love Romney’s “It’s not me, it’s you” twist on the break-up excuse.  Last January I wrote this about Romney:

Mitt is the guy you bring home who causes your mother’s brow to crease in uncertainty and your father’s jaw to tense.  He looks good on paper, but in person he comes across slick and insincere.  He’s the guy who pretends he thought your mother was your sister… because, you know, he was told that women eat that stuff up.

And if his performance doesn’t go over well he’s genuinely confused and becomes petulant.  Not that Mr. Electable would ever look in the mirror and ponder what he did wrong.  Oh no, self awareness is not his curse.  Instead he’ll blame everyone else.  His intended can’t recognize a good catch, therefore she didn’t deserve his awesomeness.  Her father didn’t like him because he couldn’t stand the idea of his son-in-law being more successful.

So Mr. Electable goes on his merry way, confident in the thought that the problem is them, not him.

Am I good, or what?  😉

The bigger problem for the Republican Party?  Most remaining Republicans (You know, the ones who decide who wins the Primary) agree with Romney.  Most have no intention of changing their ideas or ideology – just their candidates’ skin color.  They’ll run Jindal or Rubio in 2016 and say, “What more do you people want?  Can’t you see they’re not white?”
