Who isn’t fascinated by the looming Republican self immolation? I can’t read enough about it. Here is a bit of Josh Marshall pointing out that – and I’m paraphrasing – it isn’t “radicals” vs “reasonables” it is “radicals” vs. “sick minded, greedy, power hungry freaks”
A lot of this story is getting played as conservatives versus moderates. But that’s not quite how I see it. There’s a big part of this which is the ideologues against the money Republican party. The Chamber of Commerce and similar outfits want low taxes, a low regulatory regime in Washington and anything that gets in the way of that is a problem. They definitely don’t want endless wars in the Middle East and gays and guns and contraception are problems to whatever extent they get in the way of the low taxes and light regulation. Mainly they want a party that can win and keep the taxes and regs low.
Allied with them are the Rove types who mainly want to win elections. The fact that the consultants make massive personal incomes through running outfits like Crossroads is an additional incentive.
To be even more precise it is “Purist Zealots” vs. “Cynical, sick minded, greedy, power hungry freaks”
Mexican doctors sterilize the 9 year old girl who gave birth:

I would have sterilized the man who impregnated an 8 year old girl instead.
I would have sterilized the man… with a hatchet.
The schism is here sooner than we think. Rubio is delivering the Republican response to the SOTU – while Rand Paul will be delivering a separate Tea Party response. Apparently Republicans can perceive some kind of difference.
The teabags are claiming both of those a-holes. Basically there is no GOP response this year.
Save us, Tea Party! Liberate us from those awful Republicans!
What? I’m grateful that they rescued us from that dreadful Mike Castle. 🙂
Mike Huckabee is not happy about Rove’s new money-making venture/anti-teajadi group.
So this little gem came out in the news from a “Christian” radio host. WTF is wrong with these people?
Kevin Swanson: I’m beginning to get some evidence from certain doctors and certain scientists that have done research on women’s wombs after they’ve gone through the surgery, and they’ve compared the wombs of women who were on the birth control pill to those who were not on the birth control pill. And they have found that with women who are on the birth control pill, there are these little tiny fetuses, these little babies, that are embedded into the womb. They’re just like dead babies. They’re on the inside of the womb. And these wombs of women who have been on the birth control pill effectively have become graveyards for lots and lots of little babies.
Crazy people are crazy. There was a day in this country, not to log ago, when people like this Kevin Swanson would have been too embarrassed to leave the house, let alone have the never go on the radio to spout complete gibberish.
Fracking is Now the No. 2 Contributor to Global Warming in the U.S.
Anonymous with a small a, the auto bailout, Solandra, Bloom, Fisker quickly come to mind when you ask what other industry gets help when they are struggling. Jason, I’m sure the people of NCC would much rather have chickens than the random murders, violent crimes and gang violence that Wilmington has.
“Solandra, Bloom, Fisker quickly come to mind when you ask what other industry gets help when they are struggling.”
No, these are start-ups getting a major investment from government.
“I’m sure the people of NCC would much rather have chickens than the random murders, violent crimes and gang violence that Wilmington has.”
What a dopey thing to say. The government of NCC voted down a measure that would have allowed chickens in smaller yards, without a peep of protest from “the people of NCC.”
Bonus challenge: How many “random” murders were committed in Wilmington last year?
@Anonymous w/ the capital A-
There isn’t much “gang” violence in Wilmington these days, and “random murders” are rare. Most murders in Wilmington are either drug related or domestic in nature. The exceptions would be those caught in the crossfire.
Geezer already debunked your chicken shit.
