Ultrasound bill a ‘priority’ for Wisconsin Republicans

Filed in National by on February 16, 2013

What they lack in human decency, they make up for with tunnel vision.

“We have a pro-life Legislature, pro-life governor in Scott Walker and a pro-life attorney general (J.B. Van Hollen). We can all wrap our arms around this agenda.”

And it sounds like the first bill to get a warm reception from Republicans will be what’s being dubbed the “Woman’s Right to Know her Unborn Child Act,” also being termed the “ultrasound bill” by pro-choice forces.

The bill would require a woman seeking an abortion to receive an ultrasound and be informed of what is visible on the monitoring screen — although the woman would not be forced to look at the image.

“This bill is a priority,” Fitzgerald said. “It is long overdue.”

Priorities.

I know. There isn’t much to say here. Republicans being republicans.

I’m really waiting for when a woman — either elected or a regular person testifying on the bill — literally tells the male sponsor to go to hell. Being polite and arguing the merits (or lack thereof) on issues doesn’t seem to work on Republicans, so maybe yelling at them and calling them names will. I mean, it works for them on issues like birth certificates, Susan Rice, WMDs….

I hope that someone changes the word fetal with fecal in the bill and that Walker accidentally signs the revised version into law.
