This is St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church, on Union Street in Wilmington. The church is the center of the Forty Acres neighborhood, which was settled by Irish immigrants in the 1860s through 1880s. St. Ann’s was built in 1887.

    This photo makes me sad. My next door neighbor married a guy from 40 Acres. They were married at St. Ann’s in September, 1990.

    Danny died in an auto accident (the woman who hit him was DUI) on 202 roughly 6 years ago. He was a good man who loved his wife & children & extended family.
