So Sen. Saxby Chambliss has to become gay apparently before he’ll support marriage equality. Does he also have to become black to support equal rights for African Americans? Does he need to get a sex change before he can respect women? I’m telling you, it is become clearer every day: if you are a selfish narcissist, then you belong in the Republican Party.
Massachusetts sheriff Joseph McDonald (R) is defending a joke he made about President Obama during a breakfast for Republicans when he said the ghost of Abraham Lincoln visited Obama in his dreams and gave him advice on how to improve the country: “Go to the theater.” Said McDonald: “It was absolutely in jest. It was a joke. It wasn’t a new joke by any means.”
It’s an unfunny “joke,” and saying it makes Sheriff McDonald an asshole. What is it with Republican Sheriffs being complete and total assholes. And something tells me that if I made that joke about George W. Bush, Sheriff McDonald wouldn’t laugh. He would arrest me.
