QOTD — Star Trek Into Darkness

Filed in National by on May 17, 2013

So will you see it this weekend? Or will you wait until the crazy crowds die down? Or are you a Star Trek hater? Tell us in the comments.

As for me, I’ll definitely see it, but certainly not this weekend. I hate blockbuster movie crowds. But I am psyched to see this movie.

This is why I have a big screen TV. I’m a Trekker but I’ll wait for it on the premium channels. Although, I hear the seats at the new Riverfront theater are really, really comfortable. Maybe I’ll be tempted to go see it there.

Just saw it. It is pretty mich a remake of the original Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, although some things happen differently. For example, Spock doesn’t die, but someone else unthinkable does. I thought it was very good, and I love how this new Star Trek seems more real.

And yes, Carol Marcus is in it.

I read the NYTimes review, and then dropped the movie from my “want to see” list.

But “The Wrath of Khan” really was the best movie of the bunch.

Wait until it goes to Netflix. Not a total Trekkie but it looks good.

I could see that they were trying to hyper accentuate the personality traits of the original Star Trek characters, but Kirk waking up with two chicks ? Sort of a cheap laugh.

Enjoyable , but a little too Gen-Y for my taste. The metro kahn was interesting, but not as convincing as Ricardo montalban’s character.

I did like the fact that they are returning to the old mission statement Star Trek. It felt more Star Trek and less Star Wars this time.
