So Delaware Politics has a story up by the very wonderful Don Ayotte, currently a member of the Independent Party of Delaware (iPod), formerly a Republican candidate for Sussex County Council, about the current Sussex County GOP Spokesman, Duke Brooks. I am preserving the story in its entirety as it appears Delaware Politics is suffering some site outages at the moment, most likely due to David Anderson or some other admin over there trying to delete the story. Here it is:
Duke Brooks’ Open Court Cases
A subsequent data search of the Maryland court system reveals that Sherwood (Duke) Brooks, the current Sussex GOP Spokesman has five open cases, of which four are civil cases and one is a criminal case with a WARRANT status.
You will need to click on the link and type in his last name BROOKS, and first name SHERWOOD

And true enough, Mr. Brooks does have a number of open and closed cases against him. Most involved bad debts that were eventually satisfied after Brooks’ wages were garnished or through a settlement, although it appears Mr. Brooks still has some open unresolved debt actions against him. There is one recent (2009) marijuana possession charge that appears to be still active with an open bench warrant, which means should Mr. Brooks enter the state of Maryland he can be arrested at any time. Ah, Sussex County conservatives. So fiscally responsible and law abiding.
And for some laughs, here is Mr. Brooks ranting about home manufactured home rent justification is some kind of communist society….
