Refreshing candor from Fox’s Erick Erickson
This Red State diary departs from the usual GOP talking points about this shutdown being the President’s fault due to his unwillingness to compromise.
This is About Shutting Down Obamacare
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | October 2nd, 2013 at 11:42 PM | 2Congressmen, this is about shutting down Obamacare.
Democrats keep talking about our refusal to compromise. They don’t realize our compromise is defunding Obamacare. We actually want to repeal it.
This is it. Our endgame is to leave the whole thing shut down until the President defunds Obamacare. And if he does not defund Obamacare, we leave the whole thing shut down.
After all, if the government is not spending any money, when we collide with the debt ceiling in two weeks, we should not have to worry since the government is spending so little money.
This shutdown is about Obamacare. Congressmen, do not take your eyes off the ball. This is not about a grand bargain to restructure the tax code, reform entitlements, or raise revenue.
This is about shutting down Obamacare.
(snip)
Congressmen, do not underestimate our desire to toss you out of office if you betray us. We are learning a lot more about government and it confirms just how wasteful it is. But this is a fight about Obamacare. Do not confuse why you are fighting.
Hold the line. Undermine Obamacare. Shut it down.
So very true. So very sad. Really, really frightening.
Republicans go on and on about the Constitution, but they don’t believe in it.
Listening to “Morning Joe” the panel consensus is that this is the apocalyptic battle that the tea-party has been angling for.
Either the Presidency and the notion of representative government goes down, or the tea-party.
Then Mr. Erickson, this government will remain shut down, we will default on our debts, chaos will reign in the streets as the Second Civil War and Second Great Depression begins, all because you and your idiot fascist terrorist friends did not get your way after losing two elections.
Erick, son of Erick, was fired from CNN earlier this year. He’s now on Fox.
Merci.
“Republicans go on and on about the Constitution, but they don’t believe in it.”
They go on and on about America, too, but they hate Americans.
