Republican Shutdown Open Thread, Day 5
The internal GOP civil war continues, the Dems still hold firm and Americans are still getting screwed over by this. And Obamacare is enrolling people for insurance the entire time. Time Magazine may have the best cover depicting the current madness:
And how about another selfish GOP representative? When asked if he was going to give up his paycheck during the shutdown, Rep. Lee Terry notes:
Rep. Lee Terry, R-Neb., was blunt when asked if he would continue collecting his paychecks during the shutdown.
“Dang straight,” he said.
Terry suggested it’s an irrelevant question because the situation would be resolved before long.
What about the other members who were donating or forgoing their pay?
“Whatever gets them good press,” Terry said. “That’s all that it’s going to be. God bless them. But you know what? I’ve got a nice house and a kid in college, and I’ll tell you we cannot handle it. Giving our paycheck away when you still worked and earned it? That’s just not going to fly.”
Yeah baby! All of those Capitol Police who jumped into action to make sure you were safe this week are not getting paid, even though they are clearly working. They have nice houses and kids in college too, yet you did not mind that they are being denied their paychecks. Sheesh. The Party of Me, apparently.
Obama care website being shut down some during this weekend for repairs, less than one week after launch. They only had three years to prepare for this. We won the second world war in less than four years. At what point do we demand that our government be compedent
Todays obama care disaster report.
Only 1 out of every 100 applications submitted on the exchange contain enough information for enrollment.
What have these people ben doing the last 3 years. Oh thats right, they work for the government, so I guess nothing
And our moron-in-chief shows up. Sheesh.
Ezra Klein posts a great piece today detailing the current GOP civil war.
@Rd “Obama care website being shut down some during this weekend for repairs, less than one week after launch.”
Yea.. OK. So what? Do we:
a) fix the websites?
b) tell the applicants “quit complaining and just go and die”?
“Traditional politicians such as Boehner have no playbook for dealing with a powerful faction that’s completely uninterested in strategic or pragmatic concerns.”
Thanks for that link.
No liberal elite, we admit government is not competent, after three years of prep. Any honest person would abandon the program. But liberals are not honest, they are friends of the Reich
Quitter.
@Rd “Any honest person would abandon the program.”
No Rusty. We real Americans don’t leave our wounded behind.
