For Senate Wingnuts, Every day is Groundhog Day
Okay, campers, rise and shine, and don’t forget your booties ’cause it’s cooooold out there today.
The Senate’s top Republican signaled Tuesday that he will seek to extract concessions from Democrats in exchange for lifting the nation’s debt limit in 2014, potentially foreshadowing a grueling fiscal fight during an election year.
Republicans are so stupid they cannot help themselves. They just ended the possibility of a government shutdown before the 14 election by passing the budget. And they are in a better position because of it politically due to the flawed rollout of Obamacare than they should be, given their responsibility for the unnecessary hostage crisis in October. So the Republican line of thought is: lets go ruin everything we have going for us and start another hostage crisis!!!!
We Democrats are ever thankful for Republican stupidity. And you will get nothing. Nothing. On the Debt Limit. Nothing. If you wanted to extract more spending cuts the place to do that was on the budget. But you just passed the budget until 2015. So sit down, shut the fuck up and raise the debt ceiling.
The budget deal was all about ending the sequester cuts for the defense budget. Now that that’s done, it’s back to obstructive business as usual for Republicans and Tom Carper.
On the other hand, unemployment benefits for 1.3 million people will expire at the end of the month, so you are finally getting what you told Obama to do a few years ago when tax cuts were on the table.
Ryan has been out and about threatening the debt limit too. It is election year pandering, and as of now they don’t have much to threaten anyone with.
Jack Lew holds the winning hand it’s up to him when to call the expiration of the debt limit so he should off as long as he able and declare it as close to the 2014 elections as he can
