So…it looks like another one of these stupid things is happening
February 4, 2014
Fellow Delawareans,
|
Tele-town halls are a great way for me to keep in touch with you when I’m working down in Washington.
On Monday evening, February 10, at 7:25 PM, I’ll be holding a tele-town hall to answer questions from Delawareans about my work as your Representative.
I want to know what you think Congress should focus on in 2014, and I want to hear your ideas about how to make Washington work better.
If you’re interested in participating, please click here by 9 pm on Sunday, February 9, or call my Wilmington office at 302-691-7333 or toll-free at 877-899-7872 by 5 pm on Friday, February 7 to sign up. If you sign up, you’ll receive a phone call around 7:20 pm Monday evening that will enable you to ask questions during the call and listen to my answers. The call will last an hour.
I hope you’ll join me.
Sincerely,
John Carney
Because I’m not stupid enough to actually meet with a group of you in person and possibly have to face questions that I really don’t want to answer.
These things are a scourge. For me they are up there with the “Citizen’s United” decision.
It’s like taking a shower with a raincoat on.
Has this stuff officially become parody yet?
I got a tele fundraising call from Coons yesterday. I hung up.
I know I’m a broken record on this, but a suggestion for a question to ask is whether or not Rep, Carney will co-sponsor H.R.3118 – Strengthening Social Security Act of 2013.
Here’s another one:
“You did that stunt living on SNAP thing. For a week. Did you even stop to think what the cuts to the SNAP program that you voted for would do to our neediest citizens?”
Nobody asking that question or Cassandra’s is ever going to be cleared by the call screener. Here is the call break down:
1 from “Can you look into my narrow constituent services question?”
1 from “Thank you for all that you are doing for Delaware.”
1 from “Why doesn’t Sussex County get more _____ ?”
2 from “Are we doing enough for Veterans?”
2 from “Obamacare web site didn’t work.”
3 from “The deficit is the end of the World/Why are taxes so high?”
It is all too pitiful and predictable.
Just replied to his invite: No thanks, these bullshit events are the only way you can control the questions so that someone can’t ask you why you consistently vote against the positions of your constituents and in favor of your corporate bosses. Start voting like a Democrat and you won’t have to hide behind a carefully scripted telephone town hall!
Try living a couple of months on the reduced SNAP benefits you and the other two fake Democratic from Delaware just approved.
