Radical Right’s “Traitors Spring” Fails Miserably.

Filed in National by on May 17, 2014

LOLz. Mission Accomplished. I bet the organizers of this treasonous event don’t even get the humor of that. Oh well. So why do I use the words treason and traitor in describing this event. Well

Self-styled revolutionary patriots plan to converge on Washington, D.C., [on Friday] to drive President Barack Obama and disloyal lawmakers out of office.

“We are calling for the removal of Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Harry Reid, Mitch McConnell, John Boehner, Nancy Pelosi, and Eric Holder as a start toward constitutional restoration,” said retired Army Col. Harry Riley, leader of the Operation American Spring protest group. “They have all abandoned the US Constitution, are unworthy to be retained in a position that calls for servant status.”

Operation American Spring aims to pressure those lawmakers who remain – or are replaced by officials of their own choosing – “to sponsor and pass very Constitutionally crafted State legislation to dissolve the size, powers, scope and spending of the U.S. Government by 2/3rds.”

The activists say they expect 10 million to 30 million like-minded Americans to join them Friday in the nation’s capital for a rally patterned after Occupy Wall Street and “Arab Spring” protests. […] Organizers also anticipate “incremental nullification” by state legislatures of “all withholding taxes, employment taxes, employer taxes, and income taxes.”

So, if all had gone to their deluded plain, 10 to 30 million people who rush the White House and the Capitol Building and force the President, Vice President and the congressional leadership from office. How exactly is not said, but one can assume that they would not have gone willingly, since all were legitimately elected to their terms of office less than two years ago. So we are left to assume that they will be violently forced from office. So Operation American Spring is advocating a violent overthrow of the government. Yes, it is not expressly said, because if they did, they would be in jail today. They wanted more than just a protest of the President’s policies, or the overall government’s policies. They wanted a removal of the government by force and the institution of their alternative policies. That is a coup d’etat. These fucks could not win a democratic election, so they are going to force their policies on you by armed violence.

So did 10 to 30 million people show up?

No.

Better luck next time. Coup organizers said that the 10 to 30 million expected were scared off by the rain on Thursday and Friday. Which seems reasonable. Because if you are going to violently topple your government, it better be a sunny day.

Now now. Technically 10 to 30 million DID show up

More on the ten side however- but that’s just semantics….

I wonder if the Egyptians are just scratching their heads about now….

  2. Mitch Crane says:

I am amazed, which I should not be, that people shout about “defending the Constitution” while promoting the violating of it. Like it or not, there is a process for removing people from office. How do these people get away with advocating the violent overthrow of the government?

Even the organizer is disappointed — Operation American Spring Falls Flat (from the Washington Times):

Mr. Riley’s reasons for the event, as stated in previously published accounts: “We are calling for [their] removal … as a start toward constitutional restoration. They have all abandoned the U.S. Constitution, are unworthy to be retained in a position that calls for servant status.”
On Friday, the mission may have been the same — but the body count hardly as expected or wished.

“This is very disappointing,” Mr. Milton said, speaking of the numbers who showed so far, while marching to the White House. “I’ve been taking to everybody for six months, telling them to come and telling them if it’s not realistic to get to D.C., … well then, go to your county courthouse [and protest].”

Amusing that they think people will show up over the weekend.

“The Constitution” has become a far right favorite, but’s it’s a constitution made by their own fevered minds bearing no resemblance to the actual document. This was yet another farce and failure for the far right fringe, I dare say we’ll see more in the post Cliven Bundy era.

Tea Party Constitutionalists are just another form of fundamentalism where its meaning can only be interpreted by “me”

This nation wasn’t exactly given to us by England over tea and crumpets. Tree of libertry/blood of patriots and all that.

  6. Frank Knotts says:

When linked with the primary losses of TEA Patriot types this story demonstrates that the destructive powers of the TEA Patriots is waning. If they had stuck to “Taxed Enough Already” the movement might have continued to grow, however it was taken over by libertarian loons and then attached itself to the hip of the GOP, and has become a destructive element within both the GOP and the nations political arena. They seek only to destroy with no ideas of how to create or improve. If they can be kept home by rain, may it rain on every primary day and election day for the next hundred years!

Thank God these guys weren’t with Washington on Xmas day when they crossed the Delaware to surprise the British. If one of these guys were there he would have raised his hand and said “couldn’t we do this in July?” Bunch of whusses

The heavy rains came to Washington. That’s the answer – the system is going to fall from its own corruption, not any half baked temper tantrum demonstration. Not much “conservatives” can do with a crack whore. What did they ever preserve or conserve in the first place?

The battle was lost 60 years ago with Brown vs Board. VP Biden today Twittered “As we reflect on the 60th anniversary of Brown v. Board, let us remember what Dr. King said: Change “comes through continuous struggle.” -VP” Chairman Mao said change must come from a barrel of a gun. 60 years
ago in America, liberalism was imposed with a bayonet attached to a barrel of a gun. America RIP 1776 – 1954. Put that lost country on the milk carton.

You are irredeemably evil. Yes, ending racial segregation in our schools was the death knell. You racist fuck.

Classicom is right. Except it wasn’t desegregation, it was Gettysburg. Since Lee’s screw up it has been all down hill for real patriots.

Typical tea- jadi. Longing for a yesteryear that in reality never existed

The kids of the 50s have the child’s idealized view of the world they lived in
Wish something was back when it never existed is a sign of immaturity
