Same Sex Marriage is Legal is PA!
This just doesn’t get old. It is completely glorious that all of these barriers to same sex marriage are falling like dominoes. Today, Pennsylvania’s ban on same sex marriage was struck down by a Federal judge :
“The issue we resolve today is a divisive one,” Jones wrote. “Some of our citizens are made deeply uncomfortable by the notion of same-sex marriage. However, that same-sex marriage causes discomfort in some does not make its prohibition constitutional. Nor can past tradition trump the bedrock constitutional guarantees of due process and equal protection.”
Right on. And in Philadelphia, the city started issuing marriage licences to same sex couples right away. A group of 300 or so gathered at City Hall to celebrate — dancing in the streets in Philly!
Such great news — I think that this is the last state in the Northeast to have legal same sex marriage, right?
Gov. Corbett has stated that he will not challenge the ruling in court, so this decision will stand. Good news, even if it is election year pandering.
“election year pandering.”
True, but isn’t that how anything good ever gets done in politics?
Okay. I’m happy for my gay friends, but can economic justice be our new single issue? I’d love to see the day in this country when a reporter or pundit could lose his/her job for claiming tax cuts create jobs.
Keynesian economic theory says otherwise – spending, tax cuts or a combination of the two produce private sector jobs.
Lots of good reasons to fire a journalist. This isn’t one of them
Have at it. You would not be the first to skulk away.
Take your bet and raise you $50.
Problem: your conclusion and my response are so devoid of factual setting that neither one of can win this bet.
That said, if I win, I get to shave that Islamic/Amish looking beard that you sport.
Never mind. You win.
Just heard Lacey Lafferty, the newest gubernatorial candidate, babble on about the great elixir that is the holy grace known as the tax cut.
It is a mania that really only profits about 100 people in this country. I guess someday those 100 people might decide to do the right thing with their Centillion’s of dollars (10 to the 303rd power) but I’m not holding my breath.
