You want to know how the Democrats can win in #VA07?

Filed in National by on June 11, 2014

A new Public Policy Polling survey conducted in Rep. Eric Cantor’s (R-VA) district last night finds that both Cantor and the GOP House leadership are “deeply unpopular” but… interestingly and perhaps somewhat connecting, comprehensive immigration reform “is actually quite popular in his district.”

“Cantor has a only a 30% approval rating in his district, with 63% of voters disapproving. The Republican leadership in the House is even more unpopular, with just 26% of voters approving of it to 67% who disapprove.”

BUT…

“72% of voters in Cantor’s district support the bipartisan immigration reform legislation on the table in Washington right now to only 23% who are opposed. And this is an issue voters want to see action on.”

The 23% who are opposed just made their voices heard last night, with the help of some mischevious Democrats voting in an Operation Chaos style open primary. If Jack Trammell, the Democrat nominated to run in the Virginia 7th, can make this a one issue campaign, he might just win. Because there is no way that this Brat guy can obfuscate his stance on immigration reform. To do so would be the greatest flip flop in all political history.

Brat wouldn’t obfuscate his stance on immigration reform, so much as he would shout it from the mountain tops. It is an article of faith with Tea Bags that the loudest, most pure conservative will win every election based on volume and purity alone.

Conservatives only ever lose when they hedge, or in some way acknowledge some real world reality.

Then, given these poll numbers, Trammell should shout his from the mountaintop and work to turn out as many of these 72 percenters as possible.
