Two more days to go to the St. Anthony’s festival! They haven’t had the best weather this week, but today seems to be perfect — who’s going?
So, it looks from here that Senator Thad Cochran is well past his expiration date. He is in the middle of a runoff campaign with a teajhadi, but in a campaign speech where he was trying to capitalize on his connections to the area, he said this:
“It was fun, it was an adventure to be out there in the country and to see what goes on,” he said of his boyhood visits to Hattiesburg. “Picking up pecans, from that to all kinds of indecent things with animals.”
The audience chuckled.
“And I know some of you know what that is,” Cochran said.
Hmmm. Then there’s this amazing bit of cluelessness:
In an interview with Fox News, Cochran, who’s being challenged by state Sen. Chris McDaniel (R-MS), was asked if he was worried about his own chances after Cantor’s defeat.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about, what happened in Virginia?” Cochran said.
“With Eric Cantor losing his seat,” Fox News said.
“Well I haven’t really followed that campaign very closely at all,” Cochran said.
Which is interesting since he commented directly on that race with a local station the day before. Even though his opponent is a teajhadi, it might be a mercy for Cochran to be retired for the field.
What the heck is happening to I-95? A race car burned on the highway last night, and a milling machine overturned which shut it down for a few hours yesterday. And don’t get me started on the backups due to 495 being closed. Luckily I haven’d had to be in those backups, but I sure see big trucks going places they probably shouldn’t in Wilmington.
Then there’s this:
What interests you today?
Phillies game, right field line, section 110, second row. Jimmy Rollins should break Schmidt’s franchise record for most hits. The Phils might also win as the Cubs are just as bad as they are this year!
RIP, Jimmy Scott. One of the most ethereal voices and unforgettable singers I’ve ever heard:
