‘Bulo’s Fave New Tunes: July, 2014
With a special bonus track at the end that EVERYONE should click on.
Peter Himmelmann: Too Afraid To Lose
John Hiatt: Terms of My Surrender
Finally, if pure unmitigated joy is what you’re looking for, this goose-bump-inducing version of ‘Bad Self Portraits’ featuring Lake Street Dive and…Mavis Staples(!) should do the trick. I can’t tell you how much I love this, it’s what music is all about:
See ya’ next month.

In truth, Lake Street Dive is the balm.
I listened ot these because of Lake Street Dive. The reviews are in.
Reigning Sound “Falling Rain” – Precious. They are probably real popular with the Austin genius/busboy set.
Chuck Prophet – Wish Me Luck – Doesn’t suck, but just barely.
Too Afraid To Lose – Peter Himmelman – No. Just stop. Seriously.
United Waters : Out Of Flight – Art School project fail. Major fail. F-
John Hiatt – Terms Of My Surrender – Boredom set to music. No thanks.
Cymbals Eat Guitars “Warning” – I’m transported back to 1983 listening to REM – but on an extremely shitty cassette player. That’s Cymbals Eat Guitars contribution. Make pretend that decent audio recording is too Bourgeoisie.
*Sigh*.
Clever, but way too jaded for a person of your youth. I think you might just need a music intervention, perhaps the same kind of aversion therapy practiced in ‘A Clockwork Orange’. You know, every time you say something clever, you’ll get a shock, or have to eat dog food or something…or listen to ABBA. That’ll teach you.
Great to see Mavis enjoying herself so much. Thanks for that.
