Is she running for something? Or is she just keeping up appearances so she can continue to mooch off donations? Either way, one of the aides resigned last month, probably because he was being sued as a result of his service to the deity that is O’Donnell. From the News Journal:
The treasurer of Christine O’Donnell’s campaign committee resigned his post on January 31, after the Federal Election Commission filed a lawsuit claiming O’Donnell illegally used $20,000 in political contributions to pay personal rent and utility bills.
Matthew Moran, the treasurer and a longtime aide to O’Donnell, is named as a defendant in the federal lawsuit, filed in Delaware district court. O’Donnell and her committee are also named defendants.
In response to the resignation, Ms. O’Donnell called it a standard resignation and a non-issue, and that she was simply “trying to consolidate the campaign.” Again, campaign for what exactly?
Interestingly, because O’Donnell’s campaign now has no treasurer, and because she has failed to replace Moran as Treasurer within 10 days of the resignation (which would have passed on February 10), she can no longer raise any money or legally accept donations. Like that has stopped her before.
What I want to know is who is still giving to Christine O’Donnell. According to the FEC Report, the answer is nobody. She raised $36.00 last quarter, she has a cash on hand of $12.81.
