If I had to give the GOP a motto that encapsulated their mission, it would be the one above.
In the latest act of, “we don’t give a shit about governing, we just want to make headlines” style governing the Indiana legislature passed, and the Republican Governor of Indiana signed a bill to protect the “religious liberty” of idiots who hold their ability to be assholes as central to their faith.
On Thursday, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, signed a controversial religious freedom bill into law that protects business owners from being required to serve same-sex couples if they have religious objections.
Beyond the fact that this is legalized assholery, where are the damaged parties? Aren’t laws supposed to ameliorate some wrong? Where are the zealous assholy wedding photographers who have lost business photographing asshole weddings because they are being inundated by gays who want asshole wedding photographers? Where are the asshole wedding cake bakers who are having their asshole rights abridged? I doubt Indiana could produce two such a-holes.
This is pure bullshit.
And yet – Tom Carper, Chris Coons, and John Carney continue to claim that Republicans are their trusted partners in governance.
