Quality over quantity this month.  Or maybe I get more jaded as the year goes on.  Good stuff’s still really good, though.  Unless you’re Jason330:

OK, I give up. I’ve been immune to this artist’s gifts until now.  But I like this song. So sue me:

And then there’s this. Does the world really need another singer-songwriter channeling his inner Billy Joel while, um, ‘appropriating’ his melodies? Critics and hype machine say ‘yes’, El Somnambulo sez ‘no’.  Name the Billy Joel song this guy has ‘borrowed’ here:

Oh, and Joel had that restless precociousness, wrote catchier lyrics, catchier tunes, and plays piano (lots) better.  This guy is derivative, and seems committed to stardom instead of artistry.  I dread listening to this guy’s stuff all year long. He’s getting the big push.  Stop him before he can’t be stopped!!
