The NJ is taking Lafferty seriously…is Copeland?
Is throwing the Gov’s race a sign that Charlie Copeland is willing to keep his powder dry for yet another statewide election? Is he going allow the teabags to run “a real conservative” and fall on their faces (again)? If that is the plan, he is more a much more cagey tactician than I’ve ever given him credit for.
If Lacey Lafferty wins the 2016 election to become Delaware governor, it will be the culmination of a long campaign. A really, really long campaign. Lafferty’s candidacy – a longshot one, most observers say – has been in full swing since spring 2013, just months after Democrat Gov. Jack Markell was sworn in for his second and final term. Lafferty, 53, of Laurel, a contender for the Republican nomination, says she has been pondering a run for governor for much longer, ever since retiring from the Delaware State Police in 2008.
“I’m a go-getter. I don’t sit and wait. I make it happen,” Lafferty said. “I just don’t feel like these other people that are running for governor, to me, have the foresight or the collective power to bring people to the table and solve problems.”
