The “Bearded Marxist” is long gone – Delaware Senator Attacks Sanders

Filed in National by on July 8, 2015

It is sad, but predictable that the 1%er Wing of the Democratic Party would pick Chris Coons to attack Bernie Sanders.

Why can’t our delegation simply allow that perhaps… just maybe… they have a few constituents whose interests do not exactly align with their billionaire shot callers?

That’s like calling a chihuahua with an overbite a fierce attack dog. He made some tame statements about his observations of what the electorate is looking for, don’t think he’s far off. Hardly an attack on Bernie.

  2. mediawatch says:

I once had some hope for Coons. He’s turning out to be a Carper with longer words in his vocabulary.

  3. Jason330 says:

@hmm – I guess you guys are getting nervous or something? That’s the wrong way to take Sanders. You High Dems should look at Sanders as building Dem family and bringing people (enthusiastic people) into the tent.

  4. puck says:

Notice that none of the surrogates now attacking Bernie want to discuss any of Bernie’s proposals or positions, because his positions are actually popular and in line with Obama”s middle class economics
The surrogates sole job at this point is to hammer in that Bernie is a socialist.

  5. donviti says:

Sanders is 70+ years old…and Coons want someone with more seasoning?

So he’s warming up for Joe….who the hell else has more seasoning than Sanders?

I’m sure Wall Street would be fine with Biden. I’d rather Joe than Hillary.

Sanders is too frightening. Raising taxes isn’t going to win the right people over.

    I hate this country

  6. ben says:

Chris Coons really has no place to talk about anyone’s qualifications. He owes his entire career to the failure of others.

  7. Geezer says:

“The surrogates’ sole job at this point is to hammer in that Bernie is a socialist.”

And that, whether his proposals are popular or not, he can’t be elected because he’s a socialist.

  8. hmm says:

I like Sanders. I just think you’re being a little dramatic, on coons being part of some concerted attack.

  9. puck says:

That’s how Coons rolls. His attacks aren’t supposed to sound rabid. The strategy is to set up a steady drumbeat from the surrogates.

  10. Geezer says:

Well, we all know Coons is rabidly pro-Israel. Maybe Bernie isn’t Jewish enough for him.

  11. Jason330 says:

He isn’t Bomb-y enough for Coons. That comes through.

  12. SussexAnon says:

@Jason: “Bernie needs more bombs.” lol. I like it.

  13. The Godfather says:

There are at least 12000 reasons why Sanders can’t be President but he’s certainly doing a good job of demonstrating the fragileness of Clinton’s campign. Great stalking horse. The question is for who?

  14. Tom McKenney says:

I thought there were five Democrats in the race not just two.

  15. Anonymous says:

Like our current President had any experience??

“Good boy, Chris. You’ve earned a dog treat.”
