So Draft Biden is a Thing, and it’s holding a local party here in Delaware this weekend….

We received this in our tip line, and though I cannot attend, I thought I should pass it on. This is an invitation to a “small and informal gathering” at a private residence in the Devonshire neighborhood off Shipley Road (and near the intersection with Naamans Road) in Brandywine Hundred. If you are interested in attending, email and RSVP to draftbiden_de@draftbiden2016.com, and then you will receive the full and exact address. Here is the full, though redacted, invitation:

You are invited to attend a small and informal gathering at my home (XXXXXXXX, Wilmington, DE 19810) this Saturday, July 25th at 1:00pm as part of the “day of action” taking place in all 50 states, to show support of nation-wide Draft Biden 2016 movement. I would be honored if you would please join us. Feel free to bring your friends and family. Please RSVP to draftbiden_de@draftbiden2016.com.

The 2016 presidential election will be one of the most momentous and important in our lifetimes. In recent weeks, there has been a media firestorm covering the growing grassroots momentum behind a Joe Biden presidential campaign in 2016. Across the nation, folks are intensely speculating a question that no one thought was a possibility a few weeks ago.

Vice President Biden is familiar with the day-to-day of White House life and is a seasoned veteran with affairs on the Hill. He has served our nation as a Senator for four decades, chairing the Foreign Relations Committee, Senate Judiciary Committee, and leading creation of the Violence Against Women Act. Do we not also believe that we hold elections in this country, not coronations? No candidate is “inevitable;” Democratic primary voters deserve a choice. All voters deserve a choice.

Today, I am asking you to offer your official support for the Draft Biden 2016 movement. The group, organized to encourage Vice President Joe Biden to enter the 2016 presidential race, in just a few months of work by former staffers and campaign veterans has gathered over 100,000 signatures and is has hired State Directors in the early states of Iowa, New Hampshire and working on building chapters in South Carolina and other states across the nation in anticipation of the Vice President entering the race.

We stand at a pivotal moment, weeks away from a potential August 1 deadline before which Joe will probably announce his decision. He knows the polling numbers. He can see that we are behind him. He knows we are aware of his family’s desire for him to run. And he knows that the legacy of the Obama Administration that he fought so hard for is at stake in this election, and he’s the best person to carry that legacy forward.

Draft Biden 2016 has already garnered support from elected officials in Iowa such as State Sen. Tony Bisignano of Des Moines, state Sen. Joe Seng, of Davenport, state Rep. Jim Lykam of Davenport, state Rep. Mary Gaskill of Ottumwa, and Scott County Auditor Roxanna Moritz and has brought on major Obama fundraisers Jon Cooper, Shiva Sarram, and Bulldog Finance Group to round out their National Finance Team.

Today, I am asking you to help me in leading the charge in our state. Let’s work towards being at the forefront of spearheading a Biden candidacy in our state. Let us show that Delaware is “Ridin’ with Biden” and we need him in this race!

Please feel free to reach out to me if you are interested in joining me in this effort. We will be holding a small and informal gathering at my home (XXXXXXXXX, Wilmington, DE 19810) this Saturday, July 25th at 1:00pm as part of the “day of action” taking place in all 50 states, to show support of the nation-wide Draft Biden 2016 movement. I would be honored if you would join us. Feel free to pass this information along to your contacts. RSVP to draftbiden_DE@draftbiden2016.com
