Breaking News: Holy Bleep! Gordon Fires Grimaldi, Grimaldi to Primary Gordon?
Look what the News-Journal just published:
“It was in the spur of the moment because I questioned him about his risk manager, who I think is his girlfriend,” Grimaldi said. “It was just (expletive) you, David. You are fired.”
But here’s the money quote:
“I put lipstick on that pig for three years, but it is a … pig,” Grimaldi said.
I’m not a religious man but…“Thank you, Jesus.”
That’s some management style Gordon’s got.
Also, last night someone changed the Tom Gordon public figure Facebook page to be “David Grimaldi.” Saw the “name change” in my feed last night. If you scroll down, you can see it was the County Exec’s page until last night.

The best part about this is there is no side to take, except maybe of any third person who wants to run for CE. It will be nice to see them beat each other down. Can’t wait for the dirty-laundry-airing-war to follow.

ummmmm……..let’s see, I don’t think David Grimaldi’s even been indicted by the feds…..
And that’s about the best review you can give his tenure with the county.
Grimaldi’s legal problems won’t be with the feds; it will be the civil suit the risk management chief will file against him for what he said about her. She is not, despite the public job, a public figure, and Grimaldi has no evidence he has yet produced to back up the statement that she is having an affair with Gordon.
Can you add a third option to the poll: “Anyone else”
The affair allegations have been removed from the story now.
The NJ deleted all of the girlfriend stuff from the story. The public should demand an explanation from the “journalists” at the newspaper. If the reporters and editors (Ledford, that includes YOU) didn’t have the goods to stand by the story why did they publish it in the first place? Oh, I know why. The paper is now staffed almost entirely by 23 years olds and they get almost zero editing. We have a college newspaper masquerading as a professional publication. I don’t believe anything I read in the NJ. I have more faith in the commenters on this blog than the grammatically shaky, error-filled news stories at the NJ.
I think it’s pretty clear who was in charge of freeping polls for Gordon.

Maybe it’s not fair to expect this from the cub reporters at the NJ, but … if the traffic stop was indeed “the last straw” for Grimaldi, how come Tommy didn’t mention it the first time he gave an explanation for the firing?
And, when the traffic stop details came out, how come nobody bothered to ask Tommy why he didn’t mention it previously?
You’d think that Tommy would know how this works by now. It’s the inconsistency, stupid.
