State Police Now Posing As Foreign Policy Experts

Taking their cue from Craven Carney, the Delaware State Police are calling for a ‘pause’ in allowing Syrian refugees into the country.

From the News-Journal story:

Tom Brackin, president of the Delaware State Troopers Association, chairs the Northeast Regional Troopers Coalition. The group, representing officers from Maine to Delaware, issued a statement this week to back “bipartisan efforts to pause the federal government’s approval of Syrian immigrants into the United States.”

“State police officers vow to protect and serve every citizen, as well as those individuals striving to become part of the fabric of our great country,” the coalition said in its statement.

“However, this is a time to evaluate the circumstances and efficacy of allowing integration of Syrian refugees into the United States. There are fundamental security concerns by our front-line law enforcement officers in our ability to assure the American public that integration will be effectuated with guaranteed public safety.

Unlike Jack Markell, the cops unsurprisingly have demonstrated no knowledge of the already rigorous 18-24 months screening process that precedes the admission of any Syrian refugee into the country.  The words in the statement are boilerplate from the pants-wetters, including Craven Carney. Poor wittle police critters are scared of widows and orphans from Syria.

Just one more example of why we should call a ‘pause’ on the so-called Police Bill of Rights.  Maybe unprovoked shootings by cops would plummet.  A prediction: Unprovoked shootings and beatings by police officers will prove to be far greater than any ‘menace’ posed by carefully-screened refugees. They also will continue to have extra-constitutional protections and the thin blue line to shield them from any responsibility for their actions.

If anybody has earned the need for extra scrutiny, it’s police officers, not Syrian orphans and widows.

Dang I just love those leftist koolaid drinkers.

  2. OK, Bob, I’ll bite. In Delaware alone, we have witnessed more unprovoked beatings/shootings by police this year than there have been recorded violent crimes committed by resettled Syrian refugees throughout the country (zero, for those who are counting) since they’ve come here.

Tell me again–who requires more scrutiny?

  3. BTW, Bob, here is what goes into the (minimum) 18-24 month process before an applicant can be resettled into the United States:

Perhaps the foreign policy experts with Delaware police agencies will explain just what they want in a new policy.

    Let’s see

    1) High number of DSP retirees representing their lobby in the GA–including the Speaker of the House.

    2) Potentially inappropriate police actions in DE only investigated by … other police departments; complete lack of civilian oversight.

    3) Massive surveillance regime that actually exceeds anything the Feds are doing … and that takes some effort.

    4) Police stand steadfastly against the repeal of the death penalty.

    5) Police stand steadfastly against the legalization of marijuana.

    6) Police stand steadfastly against Syrian refugees.

Damn, these guys are almost their own political party.

Watch out, Steve. If you have a broken tail light, you might get pulled over.

  6. Bob says:

Hey Steve, Your list was brought to you by 1 party rule and the Dems. Seems to me. Delaware should start looking elsewhere.

  7. puck says:

“Your list was brought to you by 1 party rule”

Not really. The DSP Party is opportunistic and will run with whatever party offers the electoral registration advantage. If Dems start losing, all the retired cops will run as Republicans. They are in philosophical alignment with teabag Republicans anyway.

  8. Bob says:

@ Puck, How long has the Democrat Party owned Delaware? You are in denial if you cant recognize a issue fully owned by the Delaware Dems.

  9. Steve Newton says:

Right, Bob. That’s why Steve Smyk is a Democrat. Not.

  10. Geezer says:

Jesus, Bob, is that all you’ve got? No wonder the Republicans in Delaware can’t win an election. They can’t even come up with a strategy beyond insulting the voters.

  11. Bob says:

@ Steve. Last time I checked Steve Smyk is in the minority. What power does he have? Sorta like blaming everything on Bush.

  12. Bob says:

@Geezer. With your name I wouldn’t expect you to remember what we discussed about party affiliation.

  13. Geezer says:

I really don’t give a fuck what we discussed about party affiliation (though calling it the “Democrat” party shows you’re a Republican even if you don’t call yourself one).

If you don’t have a party, then you’re just a freelance hand job. Go rub one out somewhere else, jerkoff.

  14. Bob says:

@Geezer. Dang you are such a nice human. Hope you haven’t fallen off your meds. Don’t need to see anyone hurt.

  15. Geezer says:

Go fuck yourself, sport, or at least find a more productive hobby.
