I really liked the idea of his hiring. But, the idea of his hiring turned out to be far better than the reality of his tenure. Still, this is a shock. From the Philly Daily News:
“The Eagles fired head coach Chip Kelly on Tuesday evening.
“We appreciate all the contributions that Chip Kelly made and wish him every success going forward,” Lurie said.
Offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur will be the interim head coach on Sunday against the New York Giants.The Eagles also fired vice president of player personnel Ed Marynowitz. Tom Donahue will take over as senior director of player personnel.
