In the culminating event of the latest waste of taxpayers’ money, President Obama has vetoed a bill that would have repealed the Affordable Care Act and eliminated funding for Planned Parenthood. Speaking from Capitol Hill, House Speaker Paul Ryan fouled the air with these pearls of wisdom from behind a podium adorned with a ConfidentAmerica hashtag:
“It’s no surprise that someone named Obama vetoed a bill repealing Obamacare,” Ryan said in a statement. “But here’s the thing. The idea that Obamacare is the law of the land for good is a myth. This law will collapse under its own weight, or it will be repealed. Because all those rules and procedures Senate Democrats have used to block us from doing this? That’s all history,” he added. “We have now shown that there is a clear path to repealing Obamacare without 60 votes in the Senate. So, next year, if we’re sending this bill to a Republican president, it will get signed into law.”
There you have it (again) folks. The next Republican Congress and President will, rather than make improvements and expand health insurance to all, repeal the Affordable Care act and fire 23 million Americans from their insurance policies, eliminating their financial ability to receive healthcare. Ryan vows to blow more taxpayer money by pledging to hold an override vote which he already knows he doesn’t have the votes to pass. Check out the smiling mugs in this picture. Those are the rich, white, old, and white faces of people who are overjoyed at the prospect of finally being able to kick millions of Americans off their healthcare plans if they win the House, Senate, and White House this year.
Dems, the ball is back in your court, it’s your serve, and you need an ace. #ConfidentAmericaWithNoHealthcare
