DE Democrats trounce Republicans in raising money

As for me…

Governor Elect Carney is the Governor Elect.

Park City vs. BHL looks like it could turn into a donnybrook.

Bonini vs Lafferty looks to be over before it started.  Except maybe Lafferty doesn’t need money? Maybe she has something more valuable than money? Scoff away unbelieving heathens.

Townsend laps the competition… except,

***Townsend announced his contributions in a press release but has not filed a report

What’s that about? Allow Del Dem to explain in the comments.

Remember, the congressional race is a Federal race, so the FEC is the relevant body here, not the Del COE. And I think he is not required to file until March 31.

$17? Damn… Rose Izzo can’t even get dinner and dessert at a respectable restaurant in Sussex County with that!

  3. Prop Joe says:

Can someone help me understand how you can be the defacto nominee for your party (Colin Bonini, GOP) yet have a pittance of money to show for it? The explanation of “the GOP is waiting for their primary to sort out” would seem to be garbage, as Laugh-erty has no real statewide GOP drawing power, but what the hell do I really know!

It appears the numbers reported (so far) are not for the same timeframe. Blunt-Rochester has not announced her contributions yet. The numbers reported for Barney and Short only represent their first month or so of fundraising. Is the number publicized by the Townsend campaign include the third and fourth quarter, which would total four months (Sept., Oct., Nov. and Dec.) of fundraising? It’s not clear.

Prop Joe… and look at Hands Wriggles numbers. WTF?

  6. Mitch Crane says:

The question I have is who would donate money to a candidate for Governor who votes “No” on a resolution apologizing for slavery? In a legislature of 62 members, the only “no” votes were State Representative Rich Collins ( the soon to be one-term member from the 41st) and State Senators Gerald Hocker from Sussex and from Kent- Dave Lawson and the aforementioned Senator Colin Bonini.

I haven’t looked at the numbers for everyone on that list but I think it’s important to consider the number of contributors who maxed out and can’t help their chosen candidate moving forward. Also the number of non-individuals that contributed. Some of the amounts may be a lot heavier than the ones that will be filed at the end of the next period.

  8. anon says:

Federal filing date is January 31st for the 2015 annual.

  9. DEDave says:

The previous person is right. The FEC deadline for reporting fourth quarter 2015 fundraising is at the end of the month. These early numbers give us a look under the hood of the campaigns to fill Carney’s seat. Interesting that Townsend still hasn’t posted his cash on hand yet. Rochester hasn’t released anything. Of the candidates who reported their full numbers, Barney has a narrow cash lead over Short.

I heard Lafferty on Sussex hate radio the other day. She was mispronouncing words and using them in the wrong context. Didn’t sound like Governor material to me
