The pathetic coward who is the frontrunner for the GOP nomination said yesterday that he would not attend tomorrow's day because one of the moderators, Fox News' Megyn Kelly, asked him a fair and legitimate question in last summer's debate that revealed him to be sexist pig. Well, the Donald could not have that, so he proceeded to act out after the August debate by being a sexist pig. I hope Fox News stands their ground and refuses to budge. Let his podium stand empty. Meanwhile, Bernie Sanders, for some inexplicable reason, does not want to attend a new debate that is being scheduled by MSNBC and the New Hampshire Union Leader. The debate is not sanctioned by the DNC, but Martin O'Malley and Hillary Clinton have agreed to attend the debate, which will take place in the week before the New Hampshire primary. Everyone all campaign long have complained about the minimal number of debates the Democrats have scheduled, including Bernie Sanders. And now Bernie doesn't want to show up. Bernie, stop acting like Donald Trump.

General Assembly Post-Game Wrap-Up/Pre-Game Show: Weds., Jan. 27, 2016

We could still have an epic week in store--or it could turn into a nothingburger.  The minimum wage bill still awaits Senate action, and death penalty repeal maybe gets considered in the House. Or not.  Probably depends on whether the respective sponsors think they have the votes.  If you haven't contacted YOUR legislators, what are you waiting for? The minimum wage bill has already been amended primarily to reflect the fact it wasn't considered last year.  Senate Amendment 3, which passed by a 13-8 vote, adjusts the effective dates for the increases, and accordingly delays the implementation of the COLA increase until 2021. Pure party line vote. The bill appears to need at least one more D vote to pass. DINO Brian Bushweller is one of the holdouts.  Who are the others? BTW, check out Colin Bonini's amendment to the bill. The guy is a joke.

Oregon Militia Leader (And Several Others) Arrested. One Dead

The arrested are facing Federal felony charges of "conspiracy to impede officers through the use of force, intimidation or threats". I'm not sure what these arrests will lead to. Will the remaining militia members surrender and/or go home, or will they hunker down and prepare to retaliate? I have a bad feeling about this, and I do think law enforcement allowed this situation to go on far too long. I have trouble envisioning a scenario where the militia packs up and leaves peacefully without achieving any of their goals. They came armed for a fight and over the past few weeks have pushed the envelope toward confrontation - removing fences, threatening citizens, convening their own court, etc.. Yeah, I have a really bad feeling. I hope I'm wrong about where this is headed.
